Limerock car show May28th drive out from NH
Anyone interetsed in drive to Limerock on the 28th for the car show?
Check our Hemmings web site for details. Entry for car and driver is only $20 bucks. Would anyone like to convoy out to the event if the weather is good? I know there are a few cars here in Southerm NH and North shore MA. Sounds like a great day since it starts at 10am and ends 3pm. Here is a chance to get together for nice drive, story telling, and most likely fun. What do you say? Jeff |
Are Cobras allowed in this show?

Bob.....As per Limerock website:
The Hemmings Sports & Exotic Car Show will showcase pre-1989 sports, exotic and GT cars from Italy, Great Britain, Germany, France, Sweden and Japan. I think that means us as cars originally from G.B. http://asp1.walkontheweb.com/limeroc...e.asp?id=11109 |
I called Hemmings on this about a month ago. According to the person I talked to, Cobras and Cobra replicas will not be allowed in the show. The rational that was imparted to me was that the Cobra was a US sports car and the show is for pre-1989 sports, exotic and GT cars from Italy, Great Britain, Germany, France, Sweden and Japan. Additionally they do not want replicas in the show.
So it appears we cannot enter our replica Cobras. I would call them again to double check... perhaps if they "need" more cars, they may soften their regulations? |
If you are looking for a car show the same weekend there is Musclepalooza III at Lebanon Valley Dragwayon 5/27. Longer drive as it is up in the Albany/Pittsfield, MA corridor.

Thanks for the clarification...screw Hemmings and there show. Tony |
Limerock said the same about replicas for the Shelby event in the Fall 05. Hard to say, give them a call, I will try to get clarification this week myself. Probably afraid that a nice replica will garner the attention from the multitude of old 4 banger cars that will be their in force. Hahahahah

From the Lime Rock web site:
" The Hemmings Sports & Exotic Car Show will showcase pre-1989 sports, exotic and GT cars from Italy, Great Britain, Germany, France, Sweden and Japan. " http://asp1.walkontheweb.com/limeroc...e.asp?id=11109 Also, note the registration and spectator cost: " On-site registration on Sunday, May 28, will begin at 7 a.m. The cost to register a car is $20 for the driver. Admission for a second person with the registered car is just $10. Each subsequent person with the car must pay full price for admission to the show. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Spectator tickets are just $15 in advance and $20 at the gate and are available online at www.limerock.com." While charging for registrations is getting to be more popular, in this case Lime Rock gains revenue from the spectators PLUS the charge for the car and passengers. |
Screw the show, Who's going to the races on Monday?
Art, let me know if you want tickets for Monday, I can get them at AAA. I'll be racing at Watkins Glen on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Bob |
Bob, my understanding, the discounted tickets can also be purchased on line. When the ticket is printed, there is a bar code which is scanned at the gate. Their system will not allow for a 2nd scan of the same ticket/bar code.

I'll be there watching races Saturday and Monday. Cobra is not registered yet so I will have to go in my normal ride.

The discount is bigger at the AAA office. Gate is $45 for Monday, $40 at gate with AAA card and $30 in advance at AAA office! I'll be on the outside of turn 1 in my special Lime Rock chair.
Bob |
Bob,
Are you working the flags or spectator? Stu |
Spectator! I'll have my feet on the telephone pole (if it's still there) just above the foot bridge. Look for the Lime Rock equipped chair. Will I see you there?
Bob |
I should be there weather permitting. I usually sit on the infield side with the crowd watching the left hander, sometimesat the end of no name straight before the uphill. What are you racing at Watkins Glen?

Hey Stu:

Reply from Hemmings!
----------------------------------------- Mr. Gagnon, We're looking for factory-built foreign sports cars from recognized manufacturers. The only thing we'd accept of this body style is an AC, which is the real thing. Let me know if you have further questions. Best Regards, Trisha Grande Hemmings Motor News ----------------------------------------- They are on the fence regarding AK AC MKIV? Maybe that would qualify? Jeff |
