Connecticut Karting - Any Interest?

Hey Guys:
Is anyone out there interested in karting at OnTrackKarting in Wallingford? I've been going on Tuesday nights and it's a fun diversion during the dark months. Sessions on Tuesday are all 10 minutes. They're 8 minutes the rest of the week. If you buy in bulk sessions are only $15.

Check their web site at www.OnTrackKarting.com . I'll be there again on Tuesday at 7:00. Look for "OLDMAN" on my helmet.

I'd love to check out those 'shifter karts' but since I started my new job, I have had absolutely no time. Not sure I went to make the full investment in the hobby, but I'd love to see what all the fuss is about.

Bob,
Have some interested parties. Are you hitting the place on Tuesday on a regular basis?

Tuesday about 7:00. Bring your helmet if you have one.

Just saw this thread. Are these karts capable of pulling a driver who weighs 240 lb.? I live about ten minutes away from the place.

The physics is obvious, the more you weigh the slower you go. No big blocks here.

But as we lighter guys know you deal with your size. For 50 years I've been at the mercy of you big guys in competitive football, baseball, golf, hockey, tennis, basketball, sailing, skiing and the rest. So finally here is a sport where being heavier is a disadvantage. come on over anyway and give it a try. If you decide against at least you gave it a shot.

Bob, are these karts gas or electric?

I tried these in Newport News, VA (gas) and they are an absolute blast.
The only one we have in Long Island are electric and they're...ecchhh...

All attempts by enterpreneurs to build a track here have been squashed or were just not feasible due to outrageous real estate costs.:(

Ray:
They're gas (you can go fast enough to get hurt 30+). I sent all the info to Tony Aprile. If we get a group (10 guys) together it's $15 per session per driver. The address is On Track Karting - Wallingford CT .

Bob,
I'm free from the 9th on...I need to get back up there. That place is really really cool.
