East Windsor Composit Deaths?
Local news reported yesterday (4-29-2007) the deaths of two men in a composit coupe head-on accident in East Windsor, Connecticut. According to the news ( www.wtnh.com ) both occupants were thrown from the car. Does anyone out there have details on this event? Was it a Cobra?

There were a couple of cobra replicas at the Mustangs Unlimited show yesterday that I attended. Maybe they attended the show?

Article states "a composite roadster-type vehicle" and lists the names of the dead. I didn't post them here out of respect for the families. :(

The T-Buckets actually makes the cobras seem fairly safe.

Sounds like the pickup truck was STOPPED after seeing the Roadster speeding, perhaps towards him? Roadster side swipes truck hits trees, ejects passengers. In this scenario perhaps a Cobra would have offered more control, thus avoiding a collision. But in a head on, or striking a tree, I wouldn't think either car would offer any substantial protection that would make a big difference.
I recall a green Cobra accident (Ohio?) a few years ago where the female passenger wearing a four point seat belt (5 point?) was ejected and lived, the driver stayed in the car and died. Sometimes it just comes down to 'luck'. |
I had a good acident in my car.I took down two trees in the median,I just managed to not hit them head on. The right side drivers door was in 12 pieces and the one tree destroyed three wheels and right rear suspension and body work.I had a broken rib and some bruising and a lot of expensive repair that I did myself.I was not wearing my seatbelt, but had I had it on I would not have had any injury at all.

Unfortunately, accidents like these, doesn't help get SEMA legislation passed.
We ALL need to keep it at a safe speed. |
Every T-Bucket I've ever seen has had those bicycle tires on the front. How do they steer or stop those things?
