Museum of Transportation Pictures

The Museum of Transportation had a car show on Saturday with special tribute to Carroll Shelby and all Shelby inspired products. Everything was there, including 2 real ones, about 10 replicas, a bunch of Shelby Mustangs (including one R-code), Shelby Dodges and a VW. The only thing missing was a package of Shelby Chili.

The weather was fantastic. Partly cloudy with temps in the mid 70's. One of the originals, Jay Bentley's CSX3318 was featured inside the Museum. It has a 427 with webers.

Outside of the Museum, part of the manicured grounds was full of cars, with about 90 cars in attendance.

An original slabside. Sorry, but I did not get his name or the CSX #. But he did say he bought the car for $3500 in the late 60's and has driven it twice to California and back. It was total unrestored.

Warren

Thanks for the sharing of your pics. Wished I was able to go but needed to show up at work related function after the breakfast in Chelmsford.

Anyone know what CSX2XXX# was there?

Thanks again!
Jeff

I looked at the car quickly and it was possibly csx2072 maybe csx2071? What I can remember was it was a low csx207X car. Hope this helps.

Sal
I heard you stuffed the ballot box. The only non-silver colored Cobra and you won. I saw you talking endlessly on the phone all day. You called all your friends down to vote for you? As a matter of fact, I took a picture of your voting posse as they arrived!

Warren,
Isn't that a picture of the "Vespa Varmints"?? Aren't they the same group that caused all that damage in Daytona Beach last year? Do they know you have a picture of them?

1) I don't know
2) See #1 above
3) Who cares

About 30 of them drove into the Museum grounds about an hour before the end of the show. Thirty minutes later, another gaggle of 25 buzzed into the museum grounds to meet and greet their buddies. They helped Sal win Best Cobra by stuffing the ballot box.

Actually they where there to help Warren tune his Vespa powered Superformance
Warren i couldnt get off the phone i needed to call all my friends to vote for me.....the fame and fortune that comes with winning these shows is not easy;)

Not hard to win when everyone else had a silver/black two many good cars to decide, so they gave it to the only odd ball , the blue and white .What do you think Ron?

sgianino 07-26-2007 05:59 AM

Cakeman did you mean to say its not hard to lose when you have a small block;) Whats with the Factory Fives,do they only give you one color option to chose from?

cakeman13 07-27-2007 05:49 AM

Hey Sal, when you reach my age, you will understand that small blocks last longer and, will always be able to pass gas stations. Where were you last night? Kimball's was full at 6:15 . Rilley's now has a muscle car night on Friday night . If you decide to go , make sure you fuel up my tank is still 3/4 full from last week. Ha, Ha , Jack
