Chesnut Xtreme Hot Rod Kit special!

If you are looking for something different that accelerates like a rocket, corners like a slot car, is easy to build, and turns heads like crazy, then you might want to consider my Hot Rod. At Run n Gun in 2007 it won the road racing (by 6 seconds per lap), drag racing, and auto cross, and it gets 30mpg too!
I provide a steel and aluminum space frame to which the C5 Corvette suspension cradles simply bolt into. The car has the stock C5 wheel base and track, so all of the Vettes good geometry is maintained. You get to use all the Vettes steering, sway bars, brakes, wheels, tires, transaxle and torque tube. I shorten the torque tub by 20 inches so that the engine is moved rearward for true mid engine balance. The finished car weighs 1840lbs! You can run any LS engine OR any small block Chevy engine.
With my kit you get:
- steel chassis with aluminum skins. Weighs 340lbs
- Fiberglass body, turtle deck, front snout
- Fiberglass dash
- Fiberglass seats with black vinyl upholstery
- Fiberglass engine cover (For LS engines)
- Black carpeting
- Aluminum windshield with windshield
- 12 gallon poly fuel tank
- Steering shafts with u joints, bearings, and support heims.
- Coil over brackets with QA1 aluminim coil over shocks w/springs
- Light kit
- headers
- Roll bar
- Aluminum wing
- Wilwood clutch and brake pedals with mastercylinders
- All brake plumbing, lines and fittings
- Simpson 5 point racing seat belts
- Chassis wiring harness
- Aluminum radiator with cooling fan

For a limited time this package is a available for $15,990. This include the shortening of the torque tube!

The C5 parts can be purchased used from around $5000.

John,
Is this the same chassis you use for the Cobra?

How 'bout getting a choppped low 30's style pickup cab, leave the rear naked, put in a cut down radiator shell, round tank out back without the wing, paint the chassis rustoleum oxide red and pretend you have a rat rod that would blow everything in the weeds...what a gas that would be....now where is that piggy bank...its a beaut John.

Thanks for the input. The possibilities are endless!! The chassis is the Dragon chassis. It has a 104.5 inch wheel base and a wider track then the Cobra. The principle is the same for both. But, for the Cobra I have too build the suspension cradles instead of bolting in the alumnum Vette ones.
I have mocked up a Hot Rod on the 90 inch wheel base Cobra chassis. This has a flip up roof which is removable with 2 pins for open air fun.

The new headers for the Tbucket are new and are now like the ones on the Hot Rod truck.

Now go ahead and telll them that your frame will accept several different bodies...and still go fast.

Hi Clois, Speaking of bodies, I am almost finished doing the final changes to the Dragon body. I rolled it out side today to view a very preliminary mock up of the coupe version. The coupe roof will be removable and a new rear deck will drop in to turn it into a roadster. One car, 2 different looks in just a few minutes. And yes, this body is on the same chassis as the Hot Rod! Sorry about the trash in the pic. I have been waiting for spring! Didn't look too bad when it was covered with snow!
