Connecticut Tracks Memorial Day Weekend
Hey Kids:
For those of you out there who enjoy watching others go around tracks at speed, here is what is going on this weekend. Friday night the Whelen Modifieds are at Stafford Springs. These guys always put on a good show. Can Ted Christoper make it 3 in a row? www.staffordspeedway.com Saturday night the Super Modifieds are at Waterford Speedbowl. There is nothing faster than these guys. They typically do 12 second laps on the 3/8 mile oval. Big HP, big wings. www.speedbowl.com Friday Saturday and Monday Lime Rock is in action. F2000s, Koni Challenge and vintage Formula1 cars. Take a chair and a camera. I'll be on the outside of turn 1 on Monday. www.limerock.com For all of the above events the admission is affordable with kids getting reduced or free admission. Johnny Benson will be driving at Waterford on Saturday in a Super Modified. These guys have very very large balls. If I could only go to one event it would be the Whelen race on Friday. Do they offer any special parking at Lime Rock if you pull up in the Cobra? On the pavement perhaps? |
Last year there was a red ERA, I think, parked on the hard outside the club entrance gates.
Can't make it this year, but if you wish, stop by and say hello at the Kinetic set-up. Say hello to my son-in-law Russell Smith, who owns the Co. with Nic Jonnson. Running 2 M3s in GS. Saving the M3 E92 (the V8 car) for Watkins Glen in 2 weeks. Will be there for that. Be nice to meet some of you guys at that event to broaden my Cobra knowledge, and share a cold drink. :) |
I've been trying for years to get some sort of "better" parking for the snake with no success. Unless it's from Germany you're just one of the crowd.

I know who to talk to now. I probably cannot get anything together for this event. But future events we should be able to get "in".
