New Tirerack Location
I just got off the phone with Tirerack. The unofficial word is that Tirerack is opening a distribution center in Windsor. This means that tire and wheel purchases from Tirerack will now include sales tax for Connecticut residence. It also means that buyers can skip those nasty shipping costs by picking up their tires in Windsor. So taxes are up, but shipping costs are down.
No word on getting your tires mounted at the new facility. www.tirerack.com Bob |

" Tire Rack is just beginning operations at 100 International Drive in Windsor. There is no showroom or retail outlet, however, you may call and arrange to pick up your order from the warehouse. The website (http://www.tirerack.com/about/connecticut.jsp ) instructions are as follows "Customer pick-up is available at this location only on orders placed via telephone. The option is not available on orders placed via our website. To place an order via telephone, call 888-541-1777 and a member of our sales team will assist you with your purchase and finalize your order for pick-up." |
That's the last straw. I'm moving to New Hampshire.

Point of Interest
I purchased my Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s at The Tire Store in Flanders and they were cheaper than Tirerack without any haggling. For what it's worth.
