Wondering what the price tag will be.

Skip.

pwilkes 08-19-2010 09:09 AM

According to the Ford Racing site price is $13,595.

Yes, but their engines are not complete....no intake, distributor, carb, pulleys, plug wires, flywheel, etc, etc.

I could probably do an engine just like that (but with quite a bit more horsepower) for around $14-15k, complete ready to drop in, dyno tested and everything. With a Dart aluminum block.

I read that the Ford Racing 427 will be available with 2 different build options which will effect the price. Both will come with a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty, but neither engine will be complete. Think I will stick with a Keith Craft build.

From the web site:

" NOTE: Crate engine does not include intake or distributor "

In this economy that's a lot of cash for acquiring an aluminum pump that isn't even ready to be dropped in and fired up.

Cashburn 08-19-2010 06:00 PM

That pricing is significantly higher than what was discussed 6 months ago. Ford Racing has a bad habit of overpricing things, and it looks like this one is suffering that fate.

I talked to the Mgr of Ford Racing back in May in Detroit and he said the motor was going to be 585 HP. I agree a bit pricy with out the intake and distributor, carb etc...
