A little Harley news
For the first time ever, Harley has now started shipping some of the big V-Twin touring bikes with radiators, fans and WATER COOLED HEADS !!!!! The Harley purists on the Harley forum are all up in arms. The V-Twin still looks and sounds the same though. The cooling pipes are inside the heads and you cant even see them.
It pulled a lot of the heat out of the combustion chamber allowing them to take the compression from 9.2 to 10.0. Torque is way up. . |

Since it's Harley-Davidson's 110th Birthday, I thought some more photos might be in order. Summer of 2010, my son and I went to the Harley-Davidson museum in Milwaukee. Even if you are not a true motorcycle enthusiast, they have a fine museum that is well worth visiting. Another excellent motorcycle museum is the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa Iowa, a must see for those that like motorcycles.
I don't have a bike, but I do like to look at them. Not brave enough to ride one, the Cobra is enough excitement for me ... Some highlights from the Harley-Davidson Museum, summer 2010: http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...psc639fca4.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps2bc39fdb.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps04da3d74.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps8212cf34.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps0b2770b0.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps7322c016.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...psb19ae2a2.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps8a933ce7.jpg Replica Captain America bike. One of the bikes that was crashed in the movie, was rebuilt and is now in the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, Iowa. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...psd73236ea.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps30811ea4.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...pse11f426b.jpg You can even 'ride' a Harley … start it up, go through all the gears and not even leave the parking lot ! http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...psbb7fabe9.jpg |
That's what i'm talking about, thanks, I love the picture with all the gas tanks...:)

Thanks for sharing, Tim. We colonials don't as easily get to see some of your great museums. What a great shot of the triple height storage.....I take it they have enough bikes in easy access storage to be able to rotate the displays regularly. :)
Cheers, Glen |
