I don't think you have to worry - Shelby ain't going nowhere until he wants to.

David Kirkham 12-31-2003 08:58 PM

Machineman,

Never thought about that...have to talk to the accountant.

jamvan,

I will be in the office tomorrow. Seems like a few customers wanted to come buy. I just sent you an email.

djseed,

Shelby has been in business a long time and has more than one company. The Las Vegas operation doesn't make the blocks. I expect them to be in business for a long time. He has a great name and he wrote a BIG chunk of our world's automotive history. He got where he is because he works hard. Not too many people can claim to have won Le Mans BOTH as a driver AND as a team. I can't.

Pat,

I agree.

David:):):)

Anybody with a decent CNC mill should be able to whip one of those blocks in a few days.

Hmmm.....:3DSMILE:

David Kirkham 12-31-2003 10:00 PM

Turk,

Actually, less than one day.

David:) :) :)

So what we're really saying is that if Kirkham can do such a good job replicating the car, why couldn't they replicate a side oiler? I can't think of anyone more suited to the challenge...

One the list

I just couldn't hold back any longer...

I made the leap into ownership.

...having made the decision to take the leap based on nights posting exchanges, I will soon be a new owner of one of the Kirkham's (oops) 427s! Deposit is en route via overnight FedEx.

Every once in a great while, luck and not skill win out.

Thanks to those great folks....

BD,

Did you mean Kirkham or Kirkland, I think they are both sold at Costco.:D

xlr8or 12-31-2003 11:54 PM

David,
Congratulations on a successful sale. I hope these experiments help you find what your looking for.

I moved this thread as it is an industry announcement by a paid advertiser.

Dan Semko 01-01-2004 05:27 PM

Good Move Brent.
Happy New Year. I hope that you were one of the lucky ones that obtained an alloy new year's present!

ToyCollector 01-01-2004 05:31 PM

bdriver,

Welcome and enjoy.

W. MITTY 01-01-2004 11:18 PM

I was one of the lucky to take David up on his offer. I was in Provo today, and I was never happier to write a $5000 check in my life. A few observations.

1. David was dead serious about the offer. No hedging, weaseling or waffeling. This was a stand and deliver deal from a stand and deliver organization.
2. If you have not seen a Kirkham car in person, you must -- incredible. The Rolex of the industry IMHO.
3. I'm the guy who never wins anytthing, but I feel like I came pretty darn close today. Thanks, David!

ToyCollector 01-01-2004 11:23 PM

W. Mitty, CONGRATS.

Just as David Kirkham stands and delivers. I will too. TC, awaiting a 289 something or other. Details to be worked out.

Jamo 01-01-2004 11:35 PM
