Cobra Event at the Nugget June 13, 2010
DRAT PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS:
THE EXTREME MACHINE PARTY “SNAKE EDITION” The Extreme Machine Party, Snake Edition, is a celebration honoring the fabulous Ford race cars of the Sixties, specifically the Cobra Roadsters, GT 40’s, and Daytona Coupes. We invite all owners of these beautiful automobiles, be they originals or replicas, to come and join us for a weekend of fun, sun and friends. The event will take place June 10-13, 2010 and is headquartered at John Ascuaga’s Nugget, in Sparks, Nevada. The weather should be perfect for the many scheduled activities. Among the many things planned: a Car Performance Day (currently planned at Reno-Fernley Race Track), a Poker Run to Lake Tahoe with a BBQ lunch, a car show on Victorian Square, a wine tasting featuring Perry Creek Wines, a sit down Awards Dinner on Saturday night, dancing to a Deejay after the awards dinner, a Poker and Slot Tournament, excursions to fascinating places, and much more. With your registration, we have arranged for a discounted hotel rate at the Nugget, where covered parking along with 24 hour security will be provided. Your package will include car goodies, dash plaques and trophies, Meguiar’s wax samples, vendor merchandise, embroidered event wear, etc., and we’re adding more all the time! You will also receive a “special” ticket for a raffle held at the end of the award’s dinner-everyone wins, and the prizes are valued at up to $150.00!!! For more information, go to www.dratpro.com. You can request a registration form, or contact us with any questions at dratpro@aol.com or call 775-745-2292. Other notes: if the car you are bringing is for sale, we would be happy to advertise it for you at no cost on our web site. We will also strive to accommodate any other reasonable requests. |
Did someone take over the Cobra bash in Reno and re-name it? It's 4 days (actually the 10th-13th)with security on the 5th floor of the Nugget. Many activities...check out the website. tom

Hm-m-m-m...... Looks like an expensive knock-off of the Bash. Someone is attempting to ride Duane & Companies coattails.

No..., just for clarification if needed, you are correct - this event is not me and I have nothing to do with it. I was aware of something when Mr. Rato started working on this last year when he gave me a call a few times. The only request I made was to not use our event name of Western States Cobra Bash or WSCB which belongs to our Western States Cobra group and attendees. You never know what the future holds ;) I wish Mr. Rato and Co. and attendees a very successful event. The more Cobra people parties the better. On a related note, for this year our WSCG 2010 group event we'll probably end up near the Napa/Sonoma area for three days. Friday is our WSCG/CH1 loop drive on the Highway-1 coast. For Saturday we'll be grouped in the lower/upper corral at the SAAC National Convention at (Sears Point) Infineon Raceway on Saturday. Our lodging will be remote right between the two somewhere. More on that in a few weeks. DL and I just got back from a trip check last weekend, and spotted a few great places for us to stay. If enough people are interested and we can pay for a few resort logistics through our WSCG members site, we'll get by cheap this year I hope and just meet everyone there at base camp. I was going to wait to make the official announcement outside of our group site, but cat is sort of out of the bag now anyhow. |
The list of activities is pretty long and for $110 (27.50) per day that's pretty cheap considering the 24 hr parking with security. Where else can you be assured of your cars safety in a parking garage for that price and still have all the other activities over a 4 day period.
I can understand the loyality to the Cobra Bash, but the companionship of fellow Cobra owners should be why people go to these events. Deb and I will be going at least for a couple of the days if not the whole 4 days, we haven't decided yet. |
Sounds like a great deal to me I just wish I would have heard about it sooner:CRY: I can't make it this time.
