Another new member from Elk Grove
I've been lurking for some time and waiting to finally pick up my car. It is an Arntz-Butler with yes a Chevy 350 (sorry Ford purists) Jag rear and front. I'm working out the bugs i.e. seatbelt mounting points for a 4/5 point harness, roll bar installation, Needs an alignment as the PO was playing with coil overs and didn't reset the alignment correctly, and an interior carpet kit. Minor stuff of course. I know there are FFR cars around my neck of the woods. Even saw a burgandy one Friday near the all weather sports fields. Just wondering if there were other Arntz Butler cars near here. Anyone recommend an alignment place and a body place to put 3 holes in the body correctly for the roll bar? Thank and looking forward other rendezvous of these cars. Cheers.

Welcome to the madness. There a couple of Arntz-Butler cars around. I have sent this link to one of them who is refurbishing his car - hopefully he will respond to your questions and be able to offer some guidance.
Hope to see you and your car in the future. |
Congratulations on finding an Arntz car. Yes, they were built mostly with Chevy Power or at least the 10 or so I've seen so far myself. Try not to let that aspect bother you, it was done that way with Treco on purpose originally, to compete against the Ford powered setups. Some changed them over to Fords later, but be aware of the Chevy history too. Some of us have spent too much time on these cars already around here and continue to do so :JEKYLHYDE. As PGermond said, we have a few friends (Alan and Gary) around here with them. There is a lot of history around the Arntz/Butler/Bennett cars in our area too, and various upgrades you'll see that can be done should you choose to go that route with yours. As for the rollbar, you will want to see Photoguy/Alans car for sure, it was not a simple add but it can be done. Right now he has his car pretty much ripped apart prepping for body/repaint, so it would be a good time to see it on jacks.
