How far north does NarCal Cobra Club go
I'm up here in Redding Ca. How far North does your club go? Are there any events etc within a descent distance from Redding? Would like to join up if I don't have to drive for 3 hrs to participate.

Hello Greg,
FYI: The majority of the 50 or so total NorCal Cobras members (and friends of members) are mostly within surrounding Sacramento metropolitan areas AND extending down towards the edge of the Central Valley and North of Sacramento. The group will do runs typically to the East, West, and South of Sacramento mostly, but rarely North unless we go up to Thunder Hills Raceway for an event. The main regional clubs on ClubCobra in California are NorCal, North Bay, Bay Area Cobra Club, Central Valley, So Cal Cobra Clubs. We even manage to get the regional clubs together once every few years. You are welcome to join us, make posts, etc. It's more of a social meetup thing for us. Nobody takes it too seriously and we all just pitch in and come up with ideas together. There are no fees. A member is anyone who wants to participate with their Cobra at any one of our monthly or yearly meetups. It might be tough for the group to drive to Redding for a breakfast meetup, but maybe we can meet you on the North Coast sometime in the future on one of our CH1 North runs. Feel free to drive down in your Cobra or regular car at one of the informal breakfast meetups in the future. ;) |
There is a longtime member locally to you: Ron 61. Great guy, who is quite knowledgeable regarding Cobras. I believe he currently has a Daytona Coupe, and a VERY nice 69 428 Cobra Jet Torino, NICE CAR!!!.

Greg,
You may have more Cobras in your area than you know and can form your own group. Keep an eye on the location of posters on the forums. I often thought of joining up with the BACC groups, but the long drive and early meet times, made it impractical. Then I saw a posting from someone in my town. One contact led to another and in a very short period of time we had our first Sunday brunch with about 20 people showing up. We've had monthly breakfasts every since. |
Thanks guys for the info and the invite. Rick, I've met Ron a couple times now for breakfast. His coupe is in for a re-do, not sure when he's getting it back. He seems to think we are the only two Cobra owners in our area. Says the other sold their cars a few years back. I'll keep track of your clubs events. Maybe I can make it to one in the future.
