APPLE HILL UPDATE for 10/20

Our annual Apple Hill run is coming up soon! There have been some changes that we need to adjust to regarding traffic. Traffic on the weekends is one way up Carson road and the eastern most exits are closed after 8AM. We will need to get off the freeway at Schnell School Road, then go north to Carson Road, turn east and follow it to High Hill Ranch. They will be expecting us before 9AM.

The meeting place is 3353 Bradshaw Rd at the Princeton Business Park. That will provide an easy Freeway entrance so we can leave as a group. The Bradshaw Restaurant (where we meet for the Christmas Run) is on the other side of Bradshaw Road. Due to the road traffic I think we should leave the parking lot by 8:10, if possible, so try to be there by 8AM.

Also, PLEASE reply, on this post, if you are planning to attend, as High Hill will reserve parking, but NEEDS to know how many places to reserve for us. We were short last year and got split up.

Thank you andI hope we have a good turnout! Steve

Hi Steve.

Thanks for organizing the Apple Hill run this year.

Since we live in Placerville we would rather not drive down to Sac at 7 AM just to turn around and drive back up the hill. So, would it be acceptable to you if we just meet you at High Hill ranch? It sounds like you would get there about 8:50, that is when we would try and arrive. If this works for you please count us in and reserve a parking spot. Although I am not sure how we could coordinate, an alternative would be to join you at the Schnell Road exit. Unless it rains we will definitely be there.

Thank you, Brien and Rosemary Bluhm

BB-767- sound like a good plan, see you there. For those who might want to join along the way, I would suggest an on ramp where you can see back down the road (maybe Bass lake Rd?} then just jump in. Please let me know if you will be joining us to allow for parking.

Steve, thanks for the update. We're still planning to go.

I might be able to make it finally! I’ve been off the radar for a while, hope to get the car out.

Tom

Counting replies on both posts and 2 verbal replies, we now have 9 cars going to Apple Hill. Mark Finan says good weather for nest 7 days so we should have a get day for a ride! Anyone else??

Please count me in and Thank You for organizing the run. I will try and join you around Scott Road or meet you up there a little before 9

Hey Steve,

Rather than me back-tracking, I will wait for the caravan under the Hazel overpass and join the group when you go by.

Okay?

Ray Ogden 10-17-2018 07:54 PM

Steve,

Cynthia and I would like to join in. We live in pioneer and would like to either meet up with other hill people or meet the group there.

Ray

Looks like we'll have a good turnout for Saturday. As of now I have a 11 car count but will allow for 1 or 2 either way when I call High Hill. For those of you who don't want to backtrack it's your option, jump in somewhere or meet us there, and thanks for letting me know so I can have a parking count! See you all Saturday. Steve

Hey Ray, let's try and meet up somewhere. Check your PM's.

Sounds like fun. As usual, I'm stuck working. Thanks for setting this up regardless.

Great time yesterday, Steve. Thanks forgetting us all up there again.

If anyone didn't care for the way they had the traffic flowing (or lack of), High Hill posted a number to call with your thoughts - 530-621-77533 (El Dorado traffic dept).

The cheapy (<$100) dash cam I bought for my truck works well on the Cobra too!
