July Meeting/run?

HAVE BEEN CHECKING ON THE FORUM FOR THE JULY MEETING. HAVEN'T SEEN ANYTHING, TO DATE. SOMEONE TALKED ABOUT A RUN DOWN THE RIVER TO CRAIG BREEDLOVES SHOP, IS ANYTHING SET YET?? THE THIRD SATURDAY IS JUST OVER A WEEK AWAY.

Don DePontee 07-09-2005 09:24 AM

How about a mini tour de vin out to Villa Toscano winery for wine tasting and early lunch at their outdoor bistro. This is the same run we did last fall, we could also add to this a run to their sister winery Bella Piazza.

I will post a map and time info tomorrow (07-13)
We can meet at Brookfields (Sunrise & Folsom Blvd) or if anyone has another location that might work better please post it.

Don DePontee 07-12-2005 08:24 PM

I just noticed that the weather is going to be above 100 deg. on Saturday. This could be a problem, let me know what you guys think.
Don

Jim Norris 07-13-2005 01:04 AM

Ugh! You're right. Lately it has been pretty miserable around here as early as noon. An open car with no AC might be hard to take much past 10 or 11am. Just how early is an early lunch?

Don DePontee 07-14-2005 06:07 PM

Cool alternative to an otherwise damn hot day this Saturday the 16th. Lets all meet at the new Mel’s Diner in Folsom on Folsom Blvd. at 8:30 for a 9:00am breakfast before it gets too hot. After the breakfast everyone can go their own way and we can save the mini Tour De Vin for a cooler weekend.
Don

STEVE COURTWRIG 07-14-2005 06:17 PM

DON-GREAT IDEA- JIM, ALLAN AND I WILL BE THERE. HOPE TO SEE SOME OTHER GUYS SHOW UP, ALSO. A NICE COOL RIDE IN THE A.M. SOUNDS GREAT!!

Jim Norris 07-14-2005 08:03 PM

Sounds good to me.
Steve, will you be driving up Hwy 99 or I-5? I'd like to hook up with you guys for the drive over to Folsom if that's ok. Do you have a meeting place set for getting together with Jim and Allan?

pgermond 07-14-2005 09:59 PM

Sorry, but I'm going to pass. I had the car up in Chico earlier this week and I still haven't recovered from my heat stroke. Ya'all have fun.....

STEVE COURTWRIG 07-15-2005 09:27 AM

JIM- ALLEN, JIM AND I WILL PROBABLY MEET AT LABOU ON ELK GROVE BLVD OR MY HOUSE @ 8AM. WE REALLY DIDN'T HAVE A DRIVE PLAN. WHERE ARE YOU IN SACRAMENTO? MAYBE WE CAN HOOK UP. YOU CAN CALL ME AT 685-7997 (WORK). STEVE

Nor Cal Al 07-15-2005 02:10 PM

Al is in, but where the H _ _ _ is Mel's. We pilgrims at the north end of 49 don't know where all this Folsom stuff is!
Why is Steve always yelling? (all caps!)

STEVE COURTWRIG 07-15-2005 05:48 PM

NOR CAL AL- SORRY, I DON'T TYPE SO WELL, I'M NOT REALLY YELLING. (I USE EXCLAIMATION POINTS, A LOT, WHEN I YELL). TO ANSWER YOU QUESTION, DON TELLS ME THAT MELS IS ON FOLSOM BLVD, BETWEEN OLD TOWN AND THE 50 FRWY. HE SAYS IT'S NEAR THE HARLEY SHOP. I'LL HAVE TO FIND IT MYSELF. STEVE SEE YOU THERE! (NOT YELLING) HA! HA !

Great photos guys (and gal) :D Sorry, but that heat wave just didn't make the drive appealing to me, although it appears you all had a good time :3DSMILE:

Don DePontee 07-20-2005 12:55 AM

We missed ya Phil, we were all heading home before it got way too hot.
