Official Brake/Lamp Adj certificate help!

Hey Gang

I am sure many of you have had to go through this so I need some help. Part of the requirement of my re-registration with the SB 100 is the official brake/lamp adj. I live in Folsom and contacted Folsom Auto tech to do the inspection. I was told they were the only one around that does this.Originally, I thought all that was involved was verifying lights, I found out they actually have to take all 4 wheels off and road test the car and do braKing tests. This does not make me feel warm and fuzzy inside having some stranger driving the beast with no experience of how these cars can react under hard throttle and braking. Also I had the wheels balanced on the car to maximize balance results. I know all the mechanic has to do is mark the stud postion before he takes the tires off, I just hope to hell he remembers.

Now to my problem, they asked if it was a kit car, I said yes and they said they do not feel comfortable doing the work. They do not know anyone else they can recommend and suggested I contact BAR. I need some names of places that will do this inspection.

Second problem: I am a terriable speller and have looked all over for a spell check option on these threads. Maybe I just missed it, but can someone tell me where it is.

Thanks

Vince,
Not to worry. There are other shops around, maybe just not in Folsom. Last May I went thru the same thing in Concord. They were very helpful, inspected the brakes, adjusted the headlights and actually provided some useful information to me. They did NOT drive the car.

The shop I used did not pull the wheels, although I told them they could. It will all depend on who you choose. You are not too far from other communities, I'm sure there is someone else.

Good luck
