Photos: NORCAL Cobras Monthly Breakfast series
This was the NORCAL Cobras May 2006 Breakfast Run from the town of Folsom, CA to Ione, CA Rods & Rides Cafe'. Forecast called for rain, and we went for it anyhow. Good thing we did, it was a great drive and time. Nice shot of them all lined up one behind the other.

Nice photo.... That is one bunch of fine looking machines :) Sure glad we did it yesterday and not today!!! It was great seeing everyone and meeting some new folks as well. We seem to be stuck at 10-12 cars each time - perhaps when the weather changes we can get everyone out at the same time.

Hi guys,
sorry I missed the drive this weekend, but I had to be in Mexico at a cruise, sunshine and 90 degrees. It was horrible:p . Hope there is another drive before the Bash. Uwe |
Uwe,
The weather there was a heck of a lot better than it has been here! We missed you. We missed you.  |
Question could you tell me if ;) the second car in your photo from your breakfeast cruise is a kirkham and if so how much has the car been lowered? It looks great. thanks Jeff
|
Nice isn't it. Yes its a Kirkham. It belongs to Maurice19. I'm sure he'll chime in as to the suspension set up.

Hi Guys,
Looks like a great time, we were at Athens and it was still raining. There were a few cars but, most decided that discretion was the better part of Valor. I did not drive either of my cobras this weekend but, planning to drive the Daytona to work tomorrow ---- fianlly a break from the "40 Days 40 Nights" Drill. Two new cars/presidents at Athens Saturday ----- A new red and White Ford GT ( 300 miles) and CSX4035--- that was a 60th Birthday present to the driver from his wife on Friday....he said he was up every two hours all of Friday night looking forward to driving his new Cobra on the day after his 60th birthday. Tony R. |
Sorry I missed the event. I was looking forward to it and meeting everyone for the first time...BUT...the weather was bad in Quincy. By Sunday we had about three inches of snow on the ground. It started raining on Saturday and turned to snow by late afternoon through Sunday night.
Tom |
Wow, I guess we really did get lucky with the weather on that day. Everyone coming further than 30 miles from Sacramento seemed to have rain. Suprisingly, we had a really good turnout even though many bailed out.

Hi Jeffrey,
Good eye As Ron said, I am the lucky owner of #318 Kirkham, a retirement gift from a wonderful wife. I adjusted the ride height to 41/2 inches up front and 5 inches in the rear but it settled down a litle bit later to 4 up front and 41/2 in the rear. Thanks for the good words Maurice |
Hey Maurice,
When we were coming back from Ione, I wanted to ask you to keep an eye out to see if I generated any black smoke on a few of those suddend take-offs and stretches we did? As I said that day, I've been jetting up quite a bit and feel I've reached top upper limit, and I may go back down 1-2 sizes like it was before. The problem is these efficient ignition systems make it hard to get a good plug read. Its running richer (a little too fat) now and the plug insulator is still bone white. Let me know if you even saw a little black smoke to confirm my suspicions. That was a great drive. :D |
Duane,
Now I know why you did those sudden take offs, Ha. Thank goodness I didn`t notice any smoke, just a little chirp and a deep roar. I did enjoy the ride. Regarding jet sizes, I found my sizing from SVS. Primary main is 67 and sec plate is .073". See you soon Maurice |
Duane, Phil,
I can't figure out how to attach my pictures to these replies. I uploaded them to the club gallery just fine, but this has me stumped. What's the process? |
Hi Jim,
Go into your gallery open the picture you want to put into your post, highlight the URL for that picture from the address line at the bottom of the picture, right mouse click and choose copy. Then reopen the thread you want to paste the picture into, choose the "insert Picture Icon - 4th from the right, left mouse click and a window will open, right mouse click, paste the URL into that window and magic happens ----- Tony R. |
Jim,
Sorry for the late reply, but it looks like Tony gave you the info you were looking for. Duane - I just noticed you're still sport'in those plates.... cool ;) |
Tony,
