Thanks for the invite!
Just a note to say thanks to all of you who welcomed me to the Lincoln lunch event..and thanks for putting up with my 1001 questions. WOW how great to see all those wunnerful toys in one place! Thanks to Al for the ride in his Arnst, cranked my appetite Waaaaay Up:) I think that was the first 5yr old kid I ever saw have a coronary..must have leapt a foot in the air ...when the first cobra fired up next to him! This morning I placed my order and down payment for the kit from West Coast...should be arriving before April! Now as Duane said...the two most difficult decisions: Which Engine?.... and...Which Color? I'll be looking for next month's meeting if there is one in the cool weather of February!

Dirk,
That must have been you and Alan heading into town (south) as my daughter and me were headed out (going north in blue Cobra). Alan's a great guy and I'm pretty certain he gave you a thrill :D |
Dirk congrats on the new purchase. You are going to like it......

Hello.
Hi Dirk,
It was a pleasure meeting you. It's always fun to speak with someone who is right at the edge of making the final decision after looking for a while. Now that you have selected the car you like, what's even more fun is personalizing the car the way you want it and seeing it through to completion. As we discussed, the car type/brand selection and color are the hardest parts of the decision process as there are varying requirements from individual to individual. The engine selection will be fairly straight forward in a West Coast Cobra. I'm not sure if you went by Ken's place to see one, but we'll need to hook you up with Graydon, he loves his WCC car and what I like about it is its different than what the rest of us have here locally - so it makes his car kind of unique here in NorCal, but not for much longer once you get yours on the road. It's gonna be cool! Congratulations. :D |
And I thought I convinced Dirk that a Superformance is the coolest thing there is.
I guess I failed:CRY: Uwe |
I was slow getting the camera out, but here are some of the pics that came out.:o

Who's Kirkham is this? I spoke with the owner for a minute but I didn't get his name. This machine sounds AWESOME! I would like more details about the engine and exhaust. -Justin

Hoof Hearted
You're right about the sound produced by Maurice's Monster. It has been described as "nasty"; "mean" and "vicious" but "awesome" says it too. |
Ok Maurice, fess up. We need details my friend. :)

Justin,
My car has been sort of loud from day one. Some of the guys even asked me if I had mufflers. ha The engine is a Shelby large bore with some stroke added for 511 cubes. I think the cam is right at the top of civility, or bottom, for a hydraulic roller. Keith Craft did the build, 664 horse and about the same for torque. Runs pretty good. Sorry I had to leave the fun after lunch, but I was on duty for the family. See you guys next month Maurice |
Very cool Maurice. I'll have to take a closer look at the next meet.

Maurice's car once idled to a stop in front of my house. It woke both my 2 and 4 year old sleeping children from their naps. They both then immediately began to cry out of fear of being run over by an errant freight train.
I love that motor. I"ve thought of cutting the muffler out of my pipes just so that my more wussy 427SO could measure up. :) |
Cool, Ron

Maurice,
You and that motor are becoming a cult icon. |
