Is there snow in Murphys or just on the pass?

PatBuckley 10-18-2007 07:34 AM

Just on the pass between Murphys and Markleeville - very unlikely there would be snow in Murphys....

Larry Cornish 10-18-2007 09:06 PM

Murphys is at 2,100 feet. Snow level is about 7,000. Highway 49 is always nice. Ebbetts Pass was closed last night.

Plan B - any NorCal folks heading down Saturday AM or PM?

vince911cobra 10-19-2007 11:49 PM

Phil

Looks like a change in plans, I will be leaving Sat morning and returning Sunday. Not sure what time yet on Sat, but it will be early.

decooney 10-20-2007 12:09 AM

If the car checks out tomorrow, I'm heading up Saturday afternoon and back on Sunday morning.

jmarsey 10-20-2007 11:26 PM

I have a room reservation for Saturday night if anyone is interested. They may be sold out but don’t know for sure. I will cancel the room on Wednesday or Thursday if no takers. PM me if interested.

I really wanted to make this event but turns out my favorite uncle from Chicago will be visiting and he loves to ride in the cobra. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to take him to Sears and cruise the beautiful wine country all weekend.

Pat & Jamo, thanks for the invite and putting this together. I’ll catch you guys down the road.

Have a great time, John

PatBuckley 10-20-2007 11:53 PM

Bring your uncle!

Jamo 10-21-2007 08:51 AM

John...ditto what Pat said. Bring him!

BTW...Pat's the engineer on this train, and thankusbetogawd for him thinking of it. Looks like some nice warm weather next week...should be one of those times when the rest of the world sucks while California shines.

jmarsey 10-21-2007 11:14 AM

Jamo,

I know he would love it but just not enough time. He has been a XKE man for many years, now has 2 Austin Healey 3000, 59 Morgan, and a 68 XKE roadster. He flew fighters in Vietnam and later flew Air Force-2 during Nixon. Has some funny flying stories about Kissinger and Dick’s daughters.

Thanks again and talk soon, John

pgermond 10-22-2007 07:00 PM

John,

You have a PM

pgermond 10-22-2007 07:34 PM

Okay, I'm in.... finally put a butt in the passenger seat (my daughter). Just need to finalize the Saturday night accommodations. Will be headed down some time after noon on Saturday. Looking forward to seeing yall.

PatBuckley 10-22-2007 08:10 PM

Excellent!

Wish I had a cute passenger....

Larry Cornish 10-22-2007 09:11 PM

I feel like a weatherman, but can't pass this up. I drove up the Ebbetts Pass National Scenic Highway (Highway 4 from Arnold to Markleville) to Bear Valley today for a retreat. If the weather holds for you, you need to drive up to Bear Valley or Alpline Lake. I'm not a botanist, but the trees are incredible this time of year. Have fun.

Is this still the agenda? I'd like to join you and get to meet some of you.
