The moment has arrived BAR test!!!
Finally after waiting so long my car is done and ready to roll. Ken Pike did an excellent job finshing and painting it. I've been waiting a month for my Vin appointment and that day is quickly approaching. I have my Brake and Lamp appointment set for the same day. I need to get my smog from BAR after that then I'm ready to "Roll". I never thought this day would come. Is there only one inspection station in Sacramento? What should I expect and does someone happen to have the right phone number handy?
Thanks.

The BAR is pretty easy. They will process the paperwork, take your car to the dyno smog rack and test it. It will fail miserably and they will put the SB100 sticker on the car. Remember to ask if you can put the sticker on when the time comes or they will put it wherever they want. The guy put mine on crooked.

I pleaded with the Fullerton BAR guy to place the sticker anywhere but smack dab in the middle of my polished firewall (where he insisted it had to go according to CHP regulations). Yeah right, the first thing a cop will ask me when he pulls me over is to see the BAR sticker!
If anyone has come up with a really clever way to safely remove this beast and re-locate it to another part of the firewall (i.e. still visible but less discreet), then a steak dinner with drinks is coming your way. Not pulling your leg either. This was over 3.5 years ago and I'm still

Dean,
Have you tried a hair dryer right after a run and it's still warm? Start at the upper corner with a single edge razor blade. Usually takes up most adhesives, but that SB100 sticker may be layered and in that case, you might just have to leave it there.

It's a non alterable sticker. If you pull it up the thing will be trashed.

Dennis,
Congratulations on the progress so far. I'll be back over at CHP and the BAR myself again on another project we are building and finishing up on. If you can send me a PM, I'd like to find out which CHP station you went to and who the officer was... We're on a tight deadline on this one and I want to see if they updated the procedure since the last time I was over there and it's been at least a year. Thanks, Duane

Dennis,
Congratulations, the car looks great! I was going to email you and find out when your appointment was...Dave Cole told me it was coming up fairly soon. Now I need to drive out and take a look at your car up close.
Enjoy,
Bob
