Can anyone tell me??
Anyone with a Superformance or CSX (JDog, you out there?) with a competition dash, can you give me some rough measurements, spacing, etc.., for where the dash mounting screws go? All the pictures I have are either street dashes or the mounting screws are not visable. A picture would be great!
I'm getting rid of my wood dash & console (never did like it) and got it all torn down today... Hopefully I can have this thing buttoned up by the end of the week. http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/b...avid/dash1.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/b...avid/dash2.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/b...david/car1.jpg |

yep, it would look better on a Chris Craft.

I knew the fellow that made that dash and owned that car. First Cobra I ever rode in too, btw. He went by "Tag". He was a very talented woodworker (I believe he has passed away, I'm sad to say). That being said, I liked the wood, but just not in that car. Maybe in a Triumph or something else. Maybe you can sell the wood dash and console to someone who may like it? -John

Unfortunately, the dash did not survive its removal - the ends cracked really bad.
As far as the console goes it is still up for debate. Originally, I was going to replace both, but most people seem to like it as it is. So, I'm undecided. I'll just live with it for awhile and decide later. I'm just glad to have the dash finished for now. I'm not sure what happened to Tag & didn't want to pry, but his build did go to a good home. |
