NorCal / '09 Sacramento Autorama entries?

By chance anyone here in NorCal Cobras entering any Cobras (or other hot rods) into the Sacramento Autorama this year, or will be out there on setup night with other friends?

...not sure what kind of turnout there will be this year, but last minute three of us decided to enter some other cars in a custom sports car (3-car) group if the promoter still wants us to. Maybe we'll see some of you out there... DC

we have a custom 72 chevelle (red) entered...will be there on setup day...and maybe on drive in day with the other ss396 and if they will take the cobra

Setup completed! Getting in was fun....Ahhhhh. Raining in the morning, cars stacked up in two rows all they way out to Exposition Blvd for a few hours solid. Pretty unorganized, but once we got in there were some neat and different cars, motorcycles, and even some custom boats out there being displayed this year. Kinda cool. A little different than the last two years, and it was nice just to see some different cars and vendors entering.

We took three cars out there together. Over in the Pavillions far building next to the race track we setup the Black/Yellow Lister COOX custom creation, a '65 supercharged Fastback Mustang, and the 1970 Datsun 240Z BRE Race car. Sort of a little race car group going just for fun. The show closes early at 8pm this year, so you need to get out there earlier on Friday/Saturday night if you are going.

A group of us from the NorCal Shelby Club are meeting up around 6pm next to Gary's BRE Datsun if anyone wants to just sync up and say hello for a few minutes. The Lister COOX and Mustang are right behind it. Maybe we'll see some of you there... DC

Duane, would the WSCG, Ch1, NorCal Cobras be interested in bringing some of your cars to the Yuba College Auto Club Car Show. We use this show to promote our Automotive training programs. We had 2 Cobras last year, but a whole bunch more would really be kool! I will have my car entered in the under construction class. Cost of the show is only $10 and that includes lunch. Lots of fun and it's held on campus under the tree's. We will also have a swap meet and a great raffle. W. hand out 11 different trophies. Show is May 2nd. 9am-3pm.

Hi Don,
It's very possible some folks in the NorCal Cobras group might go for something like that, along with other folks from the River City Shelby Club - just to do something different, and drive somewhere different. CH1 is a yearly event in September we may do again this year, FYI.

A quick question... I see you are in Chico, I also see two different Yuba Colleges in CA. Depending on where you are at, the best way would be to stop down at one of our breakfast meetups and introduce yourself, and we can pass around some flyers and explain it to the folks - if that makes sense. Also, if you will be at Autorama for any reason, we could sync up there Saturday evening...

Are you referring to Yuba College in Marysville or the one near Clear Lake, CA?

I dunno if our cars can make it to your show, but would you like another cobra and/or a pretty custom chevelle? (the one culdad mentions above)

thudmaster 02-06-2009 12:01 AM

Duane, yes that would be the marysville campus.........

autobody prof. 02-06-2009 07:59 AM

Duane, I would like to meet the club at a breakfast as long as you don't mind a Chevy Silverado showing up! When and where do you meet? I teach at the Marysville Campus and that's where we have the show. I will be going to the AutoRama show with our auto club tonight. If any club members are going to be there tonight let me know. I would like to meet them.
