voltage
A low voltage problem most likely.
First thing to check is engine to frame ground.
Battery connections
Wiring to alternator next
Then check voltage while running. Should be 13.6 volts at the battery minimum

You could hire a Porsche to follow you and help with a jumpstart as needed! ;)

What 747 said plus you might have the battery load tested. A bad cell can cause the alternator to not be able to charge it and keep the voltage up, but normally it would also be low when the car is stopped.

Don't listen to Jrmac1 (John).... Just ask him how a GTO runs on 7 cyl. That'll shut him up!!! See me for details!!!
A lot of modern electronics require more than 10 volts just to function. Anything less and they act ADHD.
Step 1...Swap the battery out of you wife's car and put it in the Cobra.
Step 2...If that cures the problem, go to Step 3.
Step 3...When she tells you the "Family Truckster" won't start you say "It needs a new battery".
Step 4...Buy a cool new Gel Battery and swap it back into the Cobra during the early hours of the morning while she's asleep.
Step 5...If that fails, refer to 727's instructions!
PS.... This works for an array of other situations. Tom

With the engine running at idle, turn on the headlights.
Are they on? Does the engine die? Are they bright or dull? Now rev the engine. Do they get brighter when revved? Battery or ground.

Hey culdad, yes I was there next to the Chevelle. Glad you solved the electrical issues.
Hey Tom, the only 8 you were running on was the 8 in the truck that pulled you out!
