Is the Reno event still going on in 2011?

Hi,
Does anyone know if the Reno cobra event is going on this year and if so are you going?
Thanks,
Perry.:)

Hi,
There was 3 cobra events in Reno then it got too big and cancelled. Last year Dratpro put on another one in June but I don't know if it's ON for this year. Hopefully Tim or someone will chime in if they know.
Perry.

If you're looking for Cobra events try this one:

A couple of us from the Portland area go over for it (this year will be my 4th time) and it's a total blast if you can take the time off.
Usually 15 or so cars with some coming up from Texas as well. Last year was about 1200 miles over 6 days. My wife flies over and meets me in Denver while I trailer the car (2 days over and 2 back).
A fantastic run with really great people and scenery that will blow your socks off.

DonC-thanks for the trip info-that sounds great-does anyone drive their cars or is this only trailers?

Bob:
Whether you trailer or drive is up to you. I trailer because I prefer to make the trip to Denver in two days (about 600 miles a day) and I don't have to plan around weather. I've done the Denver run in 3 days in my Cobra without any ill effects other than running in steady rain the last 2 hours.
I'm accustomed to fairly "hard" pushes in the Cobra (PDX to SFO, PDX to SAC in 1 shot) and it doesn't bother me but those kinds of distances can be tiring if you aren't used to them.
I just find it less tiring when I'm making long hauls to trailer the Cobra and I'm fresher when I arrive. Your results may vary. The Mile Hi club makes arrangements for trailer parking for participants in Denver.
However you get there, it's a heck of a fun run.
