Wow!!!! Nice driving. Is that you?

1blackbb66 04-22-2011 10:56 PM

I wish, but no. I did have a blast at Pacific Raceways track day this past August and will be going again this year. Also going to run at Portland.
I'm gonna buy a GoPro so I can post the runs on YouTube.
I'd love to run Road America some day. It's a great track.

That sure does look like fun.

That is a great video clip. Hats off to the driver, he really knows what he is doing and is pushing 95%. Not only does it look like fun, it is the time of your life.

Not your typical engine either; 358 Cup motor taken down a notch or two. Sure likes to RPM doesn't it. Pulls like a freight train.

The driver and car owner is Scott Coyle. He is on this site as coyled. I was there with Clois, Dean, Lew and Keith when that video was shot. He IS one heck of a driver with one heck of a car.

Now that was some nice driving and gotta love that motor....just keeps pullin'.

1blackbb66 04-27-2011 08:15 PM

I was hopin someone would know who the driver was. Awesome job Scott. Maybe you could let us know what the venue was. Looks like you had the luxury of having the track to yourself? Nothin like a great day, great car and a great track!
The way that motor continues to pull all the way down the straight, you can tell it would be perfectly happy at 190 on the super speedway.
Thanks for the ride!

The venue was Road America at Elkhart Lake. It wa a Norhtwoods Shelby event. Scott pitted about two spaces down from us in the upper paddock. We could hear him coming up the towd the start finish. We all knew what he was doing. Lew was on his fourth tranny at that time and runnning the best time of his class. Lew ran about 2:55 and if I remember Scott turned a 2:29. I was pulled off the track for roll bar height safety. No problem since iI wasn't competitive due to fear factor after losing aero on the main striaght.
