intake finishes

Well the weather is closing in .I,m thinking about starting the winter porjects now. I want to pull my Dove 2-4 tunnel wedge intake and have it altered. After that is complete I want to have a protective finish applied to the manifold and valley pan. At the July Historics at SIR in the corral their was a member with a simular intake with a cast appearing finish that had a yellowish tint.No it wasn't a large gas stain. The car was blue and had a FE engine .Who was it and what was that finish? I want to have the intake and valley pan finished with something that looks good and appropriate but durable and not bothered by carb cleaner and the like . Any sugestions?

I am going with the HPC coating on my manifold and valve covers this winter.

It looks great, is really tough and it keeps the enginge compartment cooler..I am not sure about Car-Cleaner though? that is tough on most anything, especially the type with chlorine....
