Drive this Sunday?
I was talking with Cobra Dave and he wants to do a drive this Sunday. There is supposed to be a get together this Sunday in Newcastle and they do a couple hour loop. More details to come. Just throwing it out there so people can start thinking about it. Sing out if you would like to go.....It looks like the weather will be good!

I'm up for a cruise.

So here are the details for the Sunday drive:
The people from the Puyallup area will be meeting in the usual spot (Canyon Rd. Safeway) at 8:30AM this Sunday. We will be driving as a group to 6799 ColdCreek Parkway SE. (Starbuck's Lot) Newcastle Wa. and meeting up with the rest of the group. From there the drive will go to Maple Valley, Lake Tapps, and Auburn for lunch at the Sun Break Café. It is open to all Classics, Hotrods, Exotics, Sports, Collector type vehicles. Once I get a firm number I will RSVP with the coordinator. |
Jake,
I posted a message on http://www.ffcars.com/forums/28-northwest-region with a link to this thread. Bruce |
Thanks Bruce. Let me know how many will be coming from that group so I can let the organizer know.
Thanks, Jake |

With a bit of luck and shuffling, we're pretty sure we can make Sunday. But we will plan to meet at 6799 Coal Creek Parkway SE unless there really is a Coldcreek Parkway closer then Macon Georgia.
I'll post an opt-out by Saturday if not making it Sunday morning. K&D |
Sounds good Kevin! Should be a fun morning.

I always miss the good runs! Instead of taking a nice spring cruz with you guys I will be heading to Texas for work. Have fun!
|
Sounds good! I'll meet in New Castle and I'll watch for more information on time to meet in New Castle. If you know what route your taking I might try and pick up the group before you arrive at Starbucks.
|
I'll fall in somewhere on 167, no need to stop. SPF 2773 Jerry

Skip Baker will be joining us at Safeway.

Perfect!

Well it was fun cruising with you guys for the 2 miles I was able to do so. My distributor electronics fried and I had to call a flat bed just after 277th. This is the second $500 Mallory distributor that has fried on me. Never again!
Any suggestions? I'll be looking at any alternative that is reliable. I have a 408. Hope you guys had a great time. Darren |
So as I was getting a ride from my wife to the airport, you guys all passed me! Was a great going away gift! Jake was in the lead. I rolled down window and yelled at jake, not sure if he knew it was me. Ray saw me towards the end of the pack. I also saw a cobra pulled over on 410 heading up the hill at the top. Was dark grey with 65 meatballs and stickers. also another cobra on 167 parked on side of on ramp I assume waiting for you guys.

Darren,
Sorry to hear about the car troubles. I fried a MSD control module last year. Had to send the distributor to Texas to have them install and press the gear back on the shaft. If I were you I would go with factory Ford Duraspark. I had that on my last a Cobra and it never skipped a beat.there has been some discussion of late of maybe the Optima batteries taking out the spark module. Don't anything to back that up but I know of a bunch over the past year that had the same problem and they all had Optima batteries. Mark, I did see you and was sad to see you headed to the airport instead of in the line behind me : ) what a Day! |
Tossed out the MSD last year when Scotty at RHP build up my Blue Thunder heads. Go back to Duraspark with the vacuum advance. Scotty at RHP can tune the advance to your motor and driving, then put the pretty red MSR distributor cap back on to the Duraspark unit (with an easy to find adapter and rotor at O'Reillys) so you can keep the cool MSD phatt plug wires and heat resistant sparkplug caps.

It was a great day. We peeled off at the Valero station in Sumner. Big block and 12 gal fuel cell don't get you very far.
I have a HO Duraspark on mine. Had thought about going to something else, but with all the stories of failed MSD's and Mallory ignitions, I'm stickin with the Duraspark. Ray |
