3/8 SS brake line for a dipstick tube

Who can supply a 9" peice of 3/8'' SS brake line , one end flared? A longer piece both ends flared would work. Will fit nuts and bend and trim to fit and tig a bracket forming a new dipstick tube.I have the fittings. want a straight piecewith flare.I want to explore the SS . I know I can always get a preflared piece of steel brake line.

I have your length of SS 3/8 tube. You did not say if you wanted 3/8 ID or OD. Are you going to flare it, if not what size flare do you need.

3/8' od and yes flared..I have a #6 AN nut and plan altering block to take a screw in fitting. That way I can screw the dipstick tube to that fitting and seal off the leak that usually comes w/ original push in dipstick tube. You know how that syn oil travels.I'll then bend tube to match original tube ,trim to length and have a bracke made and tigged to tube simular to original.

I've gotten past the tubing. Now I'm looking for a SS 1/8" pipe nipple. I plan on cutting off one threaded end leaving one threaded end and 1 1/2" of plain 3/8 OD stock. I plan to have an O-ring groove machined near the plain end. Don't know where to start looking.

I have a complete set up for you at the house and its your for the taking. Why would you want to put an O ring on pipe thread. I can make a setup with MS threads if you want.

I'm now headed off in a slightly different direction for the base. I've taken a SS #6 AN male with a 1/8" npt male fitting.I cut off the 1/8"npt male and tapped for 1/8"npt female .I made a outy into an inny. Now I need a piece of something,I'm thinking a 1 1/2" long of 3/8" hex stock. One end turned down and threaded to 1/8"npt male. The other end turned .375" about 3/4' long and an O-ring groove near the end. All with a#12 or .189" hole to accomadate the original dipstick. The remaining hex will let a wrench tighten the new stem into the AN fitting. The .375" fitts into original hole in block.I can make the top tube from the 30 ft of SS tubing I bought.slow but shure.I don't want to wait till Feb to see if Milodon comes through.I think I have a plan.

Turned out I used a 3/8" quick release pin Cut 1/8 npt threads on one end and two O-ring grooves on the other end.Had a drilled out 3/8" not tigged near the 1/8 npt end .It looks great.Adjusted tube to match original heigth.Having bracket tigged to tubr as we speak.Sent original dipstick and the new adapter off to be chromed,in Mexico.Lots of stuff to do.
