Yakima Valley Winery Tour
To all...
As the weather starts to improve, it's time to think about doing another winery tour. Last year's was a blast, we visited 4 wineries in the Zillah area, ate some terrific Mexican food, and enjoyed some great roads. I'm thinking a kind of spur of the moment thing this year...all based on the weather, either late June (like the 21st or 28th) or mid July. These dates miss currently planned club road trips and events as far as I know. Nothing too organized, if you can make it, just show up at the appointed place and time and off we go. Last year we left from North Bend at about 9:30 on a Saturday. Those who want to make it a two day get away can stay the night in Yakima and head back on Sunday...this is something we may do. Walt |
Sounds good to me. The late June date will probably work best. Just pick a date and we'll show up.

Walt, sounds like a great time. Dolly and I will spend the night & come back on sunday too. Jay

To all...
Looks like the June 28th date will be our first shot at this. Keep that weekend free if you can and I'll keep an eye on the weather and post info on wineries, stay over lodging and weather forecasts as we get closer. Hope you all are have'n fun and logging some miles on these warn sunny days. Waldo von Slab |
Yakima weather looks great for the weekend. But we show rain
here on saturday? Jay |
Walt,
Looks like we can get a dog sitter for the 28/29th so if the weather is better than the Idaho trip, count Bev and I in ! Perry.:D |
I've been online trying to check into lodging options for those wanting to make a two day event out of this...no luck! Everything is coming up booked for the 28TH. Wazzup!? Does anyone know what's happening in Yakima that weekend that would suck up all the motel space? Looks like this will be a one day'er like last year.

Walt,
Check hotels.com. comfort suites in yakima have rooms at $89.95 for AAA See if they can give us a group rate. Perry.:) |
Well...consider this to be a one day tour. I've tried every on-line lodging service and they all come up booked for the 28th. Maybe we can just play it by ear and stumble on something once we're there. At any rate, long range weather forcasts (for what they're worth) look promising for that weekend so as of now, let's consider it a go. Last year we departed from North Bend and returned on 410 over Chinook Pass. An alternate approach this time might be to do it in reverse and return via Snoqualmie. We could link up to start in Auburn or Enumclaw. Makes no difference to me. What are your thoughts?
