New Whistler Thread 3/28/2004

I was great to see everyone yesterday at Red Hook. Nice to meet the "newbies" and to see that G.R. actually is a real person!

I meant to bring the info for the Whistler cruise, but walked off and left it on the table, so here it is.

The dates are August 6, 7 & 8 (Fri thru Sun) and we will figure out the meeting and departing place and time as it gets closer.

The Hotel is the same one we stayed in last year, "The Crystal Lodge.

We have 15 rooms reserved at $89 Can + tax. (Two nights comes to $208.26 Can including tax). There is covered parking in the basement for $10 Can per day.

Reservation I.D.: #113652-001 to 015

You need to book your own reservation and you should do it asap in case we need more rooms. Call 1 800 667 3363 and quote "N.W. Cobra Club" to get the group rate. A $32.10 deposit will be taken at the time of the booking and full payment will be taken on the C.C. on file 30 days prior to arrival. Cancellations within 30 days of arrival will forfeit one night room and tax. The Crystal Lodge is "Dog Friendly" Neil.

So get on the horn and book your room, this will be a lot of fun. Last year, with just one night, was not long enough. This year we will have the time to enjoy more of what Whistler has to offer.

Hey Bish...just made our reservations, and need to correct one thing on your post...those $$ amounts are CANADIAN. Not USD. You guys get a break! (Perry says that we'll take the difference - and thanks!)

Just confirmed. They will be having major renovations during that time... so we will want to park at the Pan Pacific due to potential dust problems. Also stay our of our rooms from 8 to 8 due to noise....

Also, the main entrance will be closed and moved to the side.

What do you guys think? It should be ok and the rate is good, but do you want me to shop for another hotel? Of course if we change, the guys who have registered will drop $32 CAN. *sigh*

Error...forget the Timberline, it's right next door to the Crystal. Stay tuned, we're searching...sorry for any confusion.

Just Canceled Reservation

They said it will cost me that $32.10 for all the effort they went through to write my name down.. "don't care if you die on the way up, your going to be charged".

Dear VISA, I would like to dispute a charge against my credit card.... lets see who wins this one!

Anyway, Pat and I on back to sleeping on one of the town square benchs, but at least we'll be there.

Bish, we booked at the Pan Pacific. It's a little more expensive, $245US for the weekend, but it's nice and has covered parking.

I'm really sorry for any confusion...I just wanted to get this out of way.

No problem. As long as everyone has a place to stay. I think there is an "Ed's Beds" down the road that will work too. We can always rendezvous at a common place in the village.

now for my bad news. I cannot got to Whistler this year. Sooo... I reserved two rooms. I would be happy if anyone making a new reservation would get take my rooms as then I'm not going to bet billed to not show.
