DMV requirements for Washington
We are considering moving to the San Juans from Northern California next spring. I have a Classic Roadster that is currently registered in California under SB100 (smog exempt). Can anyone tell us what would be required to register it in Washington? Sounds like you have a pretty active group up there. If our move pans out, we look forward to joining in! -Skip and Beverly Blake.

Skip, one of our members had researched this issue and posted his findings here:

INFO..
Rich, that thread doesn't seem to work.
Skip, what year is your Cobra registered as? It may be exempt... since WA no longer requires a State Patrol inspection. The tag agency simply registers it as the year your current title states. Wish that had been the case when I brought my car in... it would have been a 1967, no emissions, and collector plates if wanted. Welcome.... Zderf :3DSMILE: |
Okay...let's try this.
http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/show...threadid=52474 Skip, you might want to check if Island County even requires emission testing. After further review...it would appear they don't. http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/air/pdfs/Zip_codes.pdf You're a lucky guy...live in the San Juans and no emission test. |
Emissions
True, up here in the NW counties no emission testing is required, in fact there are no testing facilities.
Skip, which island are you planning to move to? There are a couple of Cobras in Friday Harbor, one is an original. Hope the move pans out for you. Bish |
