more registering questions
After reading the posts below, I'm still not sure what to expect when I go to DMV to register my 2002 Factory Five in Washington.? The Oregon Title says it's a '65 Ford 2 Door. Are they going to send me to inspection, or just register it the same as Oregon? How do they figure the "fair market value" for it? Are they going to make me pay more "use tax" based on some unknown formula like their website seems to suggest? thanks.

The honest truth!!
Well Dan this is how it will work. I know this since I just did it this week. If you have the actual title from OR all you need to do is go down to the nearest registration place and register it. You should not need a vehicle inspection. I didnt because I had the title. They will register it the same as the old title. You are lucky the title says it is a 65. You dont have to deal with anything. I would go with the collector tags since it is like 50 bucks more and you never have to pay again.
I hope everything works out for you. Matt |
Matt - right on! thanks for the answering my question. Did you have any trouble with the use tax? Did they stick you with some other value than you paid? I'm afraid to go down there and get hosed. Did you have to do emissions?
Thanks Dan |
I have a 91 Classic Roadster so yeah I had to go thru emissions.
The taxes are about 10% so yeah it can be deadly. I traded my 37 chev truck for mine and paid taxes on the difference. That was 7grand and I paid 725 for taxes and registration. I hope that helps. Matt |
My FIA came from Chicago and I did have to go for vechicle inspection in Jan this year. I also had the Illinois title in hand, wasn't a biggie though, inspector and the HP guys that were around pretty much made it a fun thing to do. Cost me the $35 licensing fee and other add on fees--Registered as a '89 NAF Cobra Replica--I think some of the privateized licensing places here may do things differently from one county or place to the other, of course here in Kitsap we don't have any emissions test , yet.

Registering in Oregon
Has anyone registered an SPF MKIII in Oregon lately?
If so, any tips on the best legal way to proceed? I have a new one coming in March...No titles, only MSO and receipts. Thanks |
