Custom Exhaust Shop Recommendations?
Hi All,
I've decided to order a set of the STS exhaust baffles from Tom's Motorsports for my KMP sidepipes. Unfortunately the 4" section of the sidepipes is too short for the baffles and I need to have them modified to accomodate. I'm looking for some recommendations on good exhaust shops that will do it right the first time. My first preference is for a shop in Portland, but a couple hour drive to have it done right is not a problem. thanks in advance Scott |
Scott, call Russ meeks he owns finish line coatings out of Milwaukie oregon. (503) 659 4278 and does custom exhaust . last month in kit car builder there was a artical on a set of custom pipes he built for a cobra. I talked to the cobra owner and he said russ is the best there is.. or you can call stans Headers in auburn,wa. they also have a great follwing. Good Luck Bob.....

Thanks Bob,
I was already going to talk with FinishLine about coating, but wasn't aware that they did custom work on sidepipes. I'll give them a call. Scott |
Performance coatings in Auburn Wa did my ceramic coating for $200 and they look amazing. I get alot of compliments on these. As for Headers, I had a custom set made by Randy's custom exhaust in Smokey point Washington. $800.00 I know that's one helluva drive but Stans Headers is Auburn wanted $2300. You could save $1500! Plus no tax with your Ore ID

Hi 40k,
I went with Russ and just picked up the sidepipes yesterday. Russ did a great job and consulted with Tom about some of the changes that I wanted to incorporated. First rate in all aspects and helped to make them even better that the original plan. After I weld the brace/tabs and fire the motor, back they go for some Coating. While I was there, I had him do the coating on some coolant hard pipes. They turned out great. tumbs up experience. Scott |
Scott, glad to hear you had a positive experience, can't have enough of those these days. This forum is an excellent avenue for tips. I discovered this websit this past February when I was 80% complete or so. I'm sure I could have saved some heartache had I known about it earlier. Incidentally if you are looking to send stuff out for chroming, my experience with "dipitnow.com" in Helena Montana proved to be unbeatable, even including the shipping. I sent my Dual roll bars (raw steel) and $300 later, triple plated work of art. Good luck with your build.
