You might try Craig Blood in Auburn... www.bloodenterprises.com

You can buy a brand new heavy duty t-5 & new short throw shifter for $1050 locally. A good rebuild will cost you $600+. If you sold your used tranny for $250 you wouldn't be that far off to get a new one. Jay

I would fish around on CC. There was someone who was looking to sell his TKO for around $1,100 the other day. Heads and shoulders above the T-5 which is the low end tranny of all the Tremacs.

I agree with jayem on the cost side. Look for something else. You will have too much $$$ in a tranny that won't hold up for the long haul, anyway. I think $250 is optimistic for the old unit. These are a dime a dozen these days.

I agree dump the T-5, rebuild will be $6-8 hundred. If you have any type of hp and even a slightly heavy foot the T-5 won't last even if you go with a "performance build kit". TKO is a good solid , durable trans. You'll thank your self in the long run vs. a T-5 rebuild.

Well guys I am going to go with a new trans and turn this one into a very nice boat ancore.
I spoke with a few hotrod guys and one of them told me about g-force transmissions that is on-line. So I called them. There re-built t5 can handle about 600hp and more then that in torque. And they said that is from a test they did in a 3 to 4k lbs car. Well since on my last dyno I was hitting about 350 at the rear tires that should be good with the weight of the car also helping me out.
So have any of you guys seen anything on these guys?
Thanks
Matt

James at Blood Enterprises is the Washington T-5 grand master. He's built more T-5's than I've done burnouts.

Futhermore they source some really good aftermarket T-5 there too. Usually they have one or two laying around at any moment.

Craig Blood is the owner but James does all the T-5 work. He built my T-45 and my sycro problems have gone away. Now I shift as fast as my arms will allow me and never get a grind...
