Seattle Police love Cobras

The Seattle Police are very understanding about Cobra owners "tuning up" their cars. I was driving enthusiastically on many occasions in the King County area and I recieved only warnings from our friends in Blue. Except for Lake Forest Park where an overzealous officer issued me a ticket. I fought the ticket and won in court.

I'm carful ,A ticket would drive insurance rates nuts.Came upon a cruiser from rear.(you can tell them a block away from their stance)even before you read the plate.I kept a truck between us untill I was sure he was committed to turn off. I believe in envy.quotas, and bad days.I have my own stories.

Just try not to "hot dog" in the car. I've been stopped but it's been bogus, check my registration type of stuff, everytime it has turned into " can I look under the hood" and then BS'ing with the officer for a bit.
Except for lady officers they are hard core---haven't been ticketed but have gotten a warning re: my "loud exhaust", she was not fun to deal with:(

Hell she was ugly

I was stopped once on the road between South Australia and Melbourne by two Police Officers. A Police woman as passenger and observer and a guy driving.

The Police man stopped me to have a look. He said his partner had asked what the car was. He said lets stop him and check his licence.

She showed a lot of interest as we talked and I offered her a ride.

Now off we went down the road with the Police car following. I gave the Cobra a short burst and then stopped.

She appreciated the ride and left knowing what a Cobra was.

..just a pity she was an ugly :LOL:ucker..

That's the public relations done. I have since been flashed on the same road by the Police car. I'm not game to stop in case she on her own in that Police car....

Now that's a true story..

CoBro,
How long have you had your car?
Just how many warnings have you gotten?

You might be living on borrowed time.

I wouldn't push my luck if I were you..

I was thinking the same thing. "Driving enthusiastically," warnings on "several occasions," but the cop that finally gave a ticket was "overzealous." Hmmm...

I've owned my Cobra for a year and I'm still learning to drive the thing. Careful is my middle name. Haven't had a warning for my exhaust yet but I'm sure its coming.
I respect the power my car has and I'm learning how to control it, but if some kid tailgates me in his honda/toyota/nissan again I gotta do what I gotta do.

We have a hotrod/custom car cruise every year in Ocena City, MD. This year a guy in a blown '32 Ford leaves the Hooters parking lot and a girl asks him to light up the tires....there are cops everywhere.........the guy in the '32 tells her if she will lift up her shirt, he will light them up........she does and he does.....cops stop him.....he explains and they let him go!!

Last time I looked up the washington standards for exhaust was that I couldn't do anything that would amplify it. So now we are down to "in his poinion " that worries me. I was waved through an interesection on a foggy morning near my home by a motorcycle officer. I hesitated because the light was red. The officer became aggitated. I proceded. A block further that officer pulled me over and started the conversation with "Gee! you don't look Fillipino to me" He gave me a ticket for disobeing a trafic control devise. I went to argue it. The cop didn't show .They ran everyone behind me and waited for the officer. Bottom line ,they wanted the money , how ever small the amount. Any contact is a roll of the dice it may be harmless or not but there will be no benifit.
