Ray, I think you are on the right track and we can further discuss the pros and cons on Friday night. I have a connection with the McDonalds 118th and Meridian and will check to see if they will endorse Fred's behavior  . The benefit is that they have restrooms and a large lot that is not that busy. Just throwing it out there. It is very exciting to see all the interest. I was starting to think everyone was getting tired of driving their Cobras :) ....I know that would never happen.

I am up for a visit. Was a final location decided for this friday? Time?

Fred Hamilton 05-30-2007 11:24 PM

Will be there Fri night to try and take this to the next step. Since we are scattered all over the place we may need to make a couple Homes. It would just be nice to have a gathering place to start from. We could grab a bite to eat there or just leave for a drive and get a bite on the way or what ever. This could be a place for the wannabe's to ask question or just look. It would be a lot easier to say will be at or will meet you at __________ at 6 than to try and come up with a new place every time.

Sure you are welcome I have one of those tupperware cars also, or should I say the other half has.

Tracy

This is great! Snohomish is too far out for Fri evenings, but it's still great that this is going on. Good job!

I went looking around and a couple of places showed promise that had good parking facilities and good eating places.

1. On the back side of South Hill Mall their is a lot of parking space and across the street are a number of nice eating restaurants.

2. Their is a lot of parking on the other side of 512 at Dennies and Best Western.

3. Cattlins restaurant in Puyallup has parking and restaurant facilities

I will contact these places and ask if they would mind. I just need to know where.

Jim

Maby friday night as a club we could drive to these locations and take a look?

Wow! It's great to see we have some real momentum built up here.
Fred.....Interesting you should mention the 118th and Meridian McDonalds because the Mustang club is thinking about moving there as well. They will continue to meet on Fri evenings so if we decide on Sat or Sun there is no overlap. I liked Jim's idea of Krispy Kreme at the Tac Mall because it seems to be more centrally located for the group..........however I like being closer to the back roads we have been on in Orting, South Prairie etc. The imports meet at the Tac Mall KK, I think on Fri nights. I will check with my son.
Fred is right on with his comments.......we need to have a regular place and time, but be adaptive and accomadating to all.
I was one of the lucky ones. Growing up in the San Fernando Valley California and cruising Van Nuys Boulevard on hot summer nights was the greatist thing in the world so lets do this and try to keep it going.
So lets meet this Fri at the Merid KK 6-6:30 PM.
See everybody there!

It's always nice on Saturday or Sunday down at Marine Park on N. Ruston Way (Ruston) w/ lots of bars and eating establishments right there. Plus there are a lot of hot chicks there and if there got to be a lull in the car talk you can always look and whistle at them (which I would personally never do because it's wrong;sexist and objectifies women and chicks don't like that, but I wanted to make allowances for those of a lesser moral fiber than myself, also the Ruston Police told me to quit doing that.) Anyway it's a nice location with lots of parking lots.

There is also Point Defiance on the back side of the first loop down in front of the Goldfish Tavern which would be a good area with a lot going on.

1blackbb66 05-31-2007 05:29 PM

Five mile drive is one of my favorite runs. There is a large turn-out right on the point that's great to stop at and look out over the bay. Then a stop at the Goldfish for a beer.

Five mile is neat but you have to watch out for the dip-a-do in the road coming up from the water. It is very easy to find bottom with just a little to much right pedal. I hit hard enough to bend my rear tie down bracket, and the funny part Steve and I have been up that hill many times

Fred.

5-mile Drive

That would be a great run for Friday night. I vote that when the bench racing is finished we go do the loop. I will have my son with me so I will be unable to stop for dinner or a refreshments, as it will be well past bed time. Don't tell Kim, she is out of town  .

Go Hard or Go Home 06-01-2007 11:41 AM

Last year, the FFR guys met at a Starbucks on a Sat morning. It worked pretty good for a few reasons. There was coffee readily available, along with bathroom facilities, you could bs as long as you want and still go home and get something done or go for a cruise all day and it is still light out (less bugs on the windshield). You could also meet at different coffee places (south end this week, north end next week, eastside after that) to not exclude anyone and promote more driving around.

Brian F. 06-01-2007 04:27 PM

Yes, the Starbucks meet and greet last year was nice. Hope to do it again soon as there are a few more FFR's on the road this summer in the Seattle area. I might do another invite for a Triple XXX Saturday cruise-in in a couple weeks.
