Thanks Andy. It was nice to meet you. The weather was great we had a lot of lookers and picture takers. I was not sure if we were on Mt Rainier or Mt Fuji. We had larger crouds around the cars than at the car show!

It would have been nice to have more club participation.

From my personal viewpoint it cost me several hundred dollars in preperation and prizes to put on this event. Had Walt Austin also been able to provided his time and opened his motor shop for us, I would have looked like a fool. I learned my lesson.

Ouch.
Don't be dismayed or disappointed in the club Jim. Sometimes things just don't come together as we would like. My advice would be to put the call out for something like this farther in advance and then as the date draws near, confirm who is going or show or not. Hopefully the poor attendance will not deter you from hosting something like this in the future as I for one would love to see Walt's shop and go for a run.

The weather was not promising enough for us too go that far.
Give the weather a few more weeks and it wiil be better for our open cars.

Jim,

Sorry you had to suffer the $ loss. I have to agree with Ray and MadDog. More advance notice of upcoming events goes a long way in preventing poor turnout. Our "driving season" often conflicts with family plans and vacations. It's also a good idea to get a confirmed head count of those attending before firming up plans. When all that is done then you have to worry about the weather. August and September seem to be the safest months for outdoor activities. I can't speak for the rest, but Eileen and I are fair weather drivers. It's not much fun driving around in wet underwear.

Jim,

Sorry Kim and I could not make it. We had a wedding that had been on the calander for the past 6 months. I agree with the others...don't let this one run get your feathers ruffled. I have had good participation on all the runs I have put on. I do watch the weather and if it looks like rain I cancel and push it out a few weeks. I also try to throw the dates out for everyone in early spring so they can plan on it. It is also fun to throw a spur of the moment run together, however don't plan on huge numbers (12+) attending. Just my 2 cents.

Jake
