Get e-trac installed the length of the trailer at track width. Makes it a breeze to secure the car with tire webs.

I recently trailer my SPF from LA to Northern California with an open trailer with no problems or damage to the paint.
I picked it up from a performance shop that had this 8" wide protection paper that is made to stick to the paint and protect it when working on these cars. We created a front bra with this material and stuck in around the cockpit then put the tonue cover on. No problems at all. I recommend looking for that protective paper. It will be well worth it.
I made the decision to pick it up myself vs. a transport based on me not wanting to wait. The cost of gas, food, and hotel was just as much as it would have been for a reputable fully enclosed and insured transporter.

Heck NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
Don't even think 'bout it!
Hey, I thought the TV commercials for the "Motor Trend Truck of the Year" winning Tundra said it could haul 10000 pounds and stop on a dime to boot.
There is more to towing capacity than just pulling power. Tow vehicle weight is probably more important than anything else. Afterall, do you want to tow or do you want to be pushed? Wait until you get on the Interstate and the semi's start passing you at 80, you'll see what I mean. I used to tow with a full size 1/2 ton but no more. Give me at least a 3/4 tone diesel. It weighs 7,900 pounds, itself. Not quite so easy for the wind to push around.
Good luck, and be careful!

As you might expect, the Tundra that tows 10k is the optimum selection for towing...mine is a 4x4 etc...and is rated for 8500. That comercial really gets around.

It came on the trailer. I believe you can get them from most trailer suppliers.

serpent express
Hello folks, I'm new to this form not sure if I'm posting in the correct area. But I wanted to get some feedback on the serpent express. It will be for a 1923 T. roadster. I already have the open trailer and just need the piping and the canvas.any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Bob

I towed my boat about 40 miles with the cover on it. BAD mistake...better to leave the cover OFF! I drive the Cobra when I go...except the time I had to have engine work done...picked a day to tow it when there wasn't a chance of rain.
