Legislative alert for Oregon!
http://www.semasan.com/main/main.aspx?id=62515
Our idiot governor wants to ban aftermarket parts and tires. This would mean I would have to run the factory POS tires on my work trucks. Scott S |
WOW, I guess Oregon is trying to out do California.
|
Scott, I know that I am dumb, but how would a good set of after market tires cause more green house emissions? That really does sound like something one of our idiots here would come up with. And if Oregon is like here, you can't get original parts after about 5 years at most it seems. And think of the loss of jobs and more unemployment if all states do that. Ron :( |
Auto makers are required to maintan parts availability for 8 years for models they produce. After that is is based upon demand, thats why parts are available for certain models but not others.
|
Isnt it a pity that politicians the world over aren't concentrating on getting the economy back on track and money flowing again rather than twiddling with (frankly) completely irrelevant stuff like this!! Idiots the lot of em!!

Here is my letter to the Speaker...
Speaker Hunt, I am sure you are getting swamped with opinions on HB 2186, I am opposed. As a logging contractor hauling crew and supplies over extremely rocky and rough roads OEM tires are tremendously inadequate. We have found that even to allow new vehicles purchased with the wimpy tires supplied we have many flats and are concerned for the safety of our crewmembers. Also we have to purchase “aftermarket” racks for our pickups to mount the ODOT required overhead signs and lights when moving heavy equipment which would not be allowed under this bill. Please consider my concerns about safety and it’s relation to this bill. Scott S |
Uaw
Sounds like some crap a UAW boss would dream up to try to make you buy their stuff so the Mob errrrr Union bosses could stay in the money.
