Titling an out-of state Cobra in Ohio

I'm looking at buying a Cobra replica from an owner not in Ohio. I know the car will have to go through the 'out-of-state inspection' to confirm the car VIN matches the VIN on the non-Ohio title.

The title states year of manufacture of 1964, with the manufacturers 4 digit VIN, a make of Ford, and nothing given for a model. The only VIN plate on the car shows year of 1964, the same 4 digit VIN, but states the manufacturer as Unique Motorcars and a model of 289 FIA.

Will the differences cause it to fail th inspection, and thus not be able to have the title transferred?

Thanks, Keith

You can usually go to one of the license plate bureaus and have the VIN inspected. I had a 1968 truck I bought a few years ago. I took it to the local license plate bureau and they inspected it. The guy didn't even know where the VIN tag was located. I had to show him it was on the door jamb. Then he questioned the 12 digit VIN number, which I had to explain.

99% of the time, they look at the title, look at the VIN on the car, if they match, you are set. There is no real inspection of any type.
