Membership? Supplies in Cincinnati Area?
Hi,
I'm the new owner of a SPF here in Cincinnati (Milford, really). Two questions: 1. How can I learn more about the Ohio Cobra Club. 2. Where can I get a good helmet in the Cincinnati area? Thanks! |
I don't believe Ohio has any helmet laws.
TURK |
and,
I don't believe California has any Ohio Cobra Clubs either...

Congradulations on your new Cobra--I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.
Information about the Ohio Cobra Club---We accept any Cobra owners and lovers--We are having a meeing in Columbus on the 19th of May--and you are more then welcome to attend. We will be discussing our role at the Spring Fling and how we can help out. As a group we try to get together a few times a year--the club is broken up into chapters, Northern, Central and Southern. We are looking for members out of your area--we have a few now but, a few more would be great. For more information on the May meeting scan through some of the postings and if you don't find any info. let me know-- Maybe you can join the group from your area and run up together. I'm sure you would enjoy the group--we have a good time. In California they need helmets to fend of the snipers not for driving. Mike |
Welcome!
Hey Doug!
You are (I think) the fourth SPF Cobra in Milford - Congrats! My wife and I are in Loveland, so not far away at all. Currently we are about the only 'active' Southern Chapter participants in the Ohio Club. We are looking forward to the warmer weather to hopefully do some recruiting. Getting Cobra owners from anywhere in the Greater Cinci area involved with the Ohio Cobra Club has been oddly difficult. I think a lot of them may not be on the forum, so it's a matter af finding them at the cruise-ins, shows, and events like the Spring Fling. We'd love to get together with you. Let me know if you're up for it sometime. Take care, Keith |
Doug,
Welcome to both worlds! SPF ownership and joining the OCC! Our little last impromptu meeting here at our home resulted in 52 members showing up! May 19th is the next State meeting. If you'd like, drive up to London on the 19th and we'll cruise together to the meeting in Columbus. We just elected Officers so the club is still in its infancy. Mike is right about the Fling scenario. With the help of Dave, Frank, Steve, Howard and Leslie, and many others, the club was born out of the need to help with the Fling. I tried to stop them but it was like an out of control locomotive! This will be one of the finest Cobra Clubs across America. If you just feel the need to drive, give me a call, come on up to London and lets cruise! The first 60 degree day Frank rumbels up the drive, the next day Chris rumbles in. You just never know around here! Welcome to the Club! DV 740-852-5280 300 Cobras is NOT enough! |
Ooops
Hey Doug!
I guess it would have helped if I gave you some contact info. Sorry. 677-0669, KHummel66@aol.com We live over by the Oasis, between Loveland and Milford. Convenient to everything, close to nothing. If you are planning to go the the next state meeting in May, if you'd like, we can caravan up to DV's and then head to Columbus from there as he offered. Let me know. Take care, Keith |
Club Membership
Doug,
After intense scrutiny by our Southern Regional membership review panel, we have decided to consider evaluating your application for membership. NO! Seriously, welcome aboard. Please send me an e-mail. I'll send you an example of what we list in our directory, then add you as well. -Steve Boardman wadesdad@hotmail.com |
You need to tell me these things
Hey, I guess we've been promoted. Now we're the Southern Region membership review panel. Cool! Someone really ought to tell us these things in advance though. Being hit by the stress of the intense responsibility without any forewarning was almost unbearable. :)
See you all in May! Hopefully some sooner. Keith |
I live in the Greater Cincinnati/NKY. Looking to find a Cobra Club here. Thanks
Bill |
I have just "loaned" my Cobra to my daughter and her husband in Union, KY. which is about 15 minutes south of Cincinnati. They will have it for about six weeks and they are looking for some Cobra events to attend. Is there anyone who they can contact for that info? Thanks, John

Cinci Cobra Club info
There are two Cobra groups to draw from Cinci, neither are all that close. One is the Ohio Cobra Club (OCC), but most of the members and event are held in Columbus or further north. The other is the Kentucky Cobra Club, which is based in Louisville.
There are several Cobra owners in Greater Cinci, and some attempts have been made to get them together, either as part of the OCC or just informally, but those efforts have been less than fruitful. Keith |
Rolling Thunder, do you go up to Milford at all? I haven't made it up there yet, and this weekend I'm going back to Columbus for the Good-Guys show. When I get back I wanted to drive up there, they say as many 300 cars there, not all cobras but there should be some. I would like to have a dyno day/bar-b-que at my shop. Would you be interested in something like that. I could call Bill Dyers at Ohio Cobra Club to get some specifics on a chapter in this area. Let me know what you think.

Milford cruise-in
I get to Milford once in a while. Was there this past Friday - 300 cars might have been an understatement. Oddly, not a single Cobra (not even mine as we needed 3 seats), but there have been some in the past.
I think OCC would be up to having a 'meeting' down here if someone would take the lead on it, as well as for a chapter. Talk to Bill, or Rick Dorman - current OCC Pres. Where's your shop? Keith |
I will call Bill or Rick. My shop is in NKY in Florence. I've only seen a couple of Cobra's in the area, but never get a chance to talk to any of them. Have any ideas how to get a gathering in this area? I'll try Bill when I get to Columbus this weekend coming up. The Good-Guys show is in and it is big. Thanks

Keith, thank you for the information about the lack of Cobra interest in the Cincinnati area. I find that very strange for a city that size. Here in Tucson,AZ. we have less than a million people in the entire area, BUT, through beating the bushes, attending car shows, and following up leads we have 46 known Cobra owners in town with over 25 guys who are active, 9 cars under construction, and 4 known Cobras which we can't seem to meet their owners. We and the Phoenix (110 miles north ) Cobra guys get together about four times a year for partys and drives and to support each other. Bill, my son-in-law goes by Florence every day to work at the airport. Could you email me ( aida_kerekes@msn.com ) with your address, he'd like to drop in and say hello. If you are looking for ways to get some interest going in that area I'd be glad to help. John

LCS (DVSF III) AutoX pic
Rick,
The picture used in the original LCS website page for the AutoX was of me and my car. Could you email me that pic. It's not on the site now that the '05 pics are up, and I'd like a copy. Possible? Thanks, Keith |
Rick, we could do a Dyno/bar-b-q Day at the shop. Get some feed back from your group in Ohio and I don't know KCC email, I'll look it up and see if they would be interested in coming to Florence.
