Amish Country Cruise

Dale Ryba emailed me about a cruise through Amish country on Aug.10th. We would meet at exit 165 RT 13 and take Rt 39 through Millersburg, Sugarcreek area. Cindy and I plan to go. We have about 6 cars going as of today. Anyone interested? Please email Dale at .. dfryba@yahoo.com and let him know you plan to attend. The time hasn't been set in stone yet as to when we will need to meet at exit 165.

Les,
Don't get me wrong---that cruise sounds wonderful. However, when I read the title of the thread (i.e. before opening it), I got a wholly different mental image (having talked to people who've been on Carnival cruises to the Caribbean, etc.).
Shoo-fly pie and discreet clothing, etc. just didn't jibe w/ the night-long thong-limbo and berserk imbibation that is more
or less the standard fare of these nautical bacchanalia....

I had the same picture in my mind of a bunch of horse and buggies at the local watering hole :3DSMILE:

Sounds like a nice drive Les.......don't worry, I'll leave the buggy at home and bring the Cobra. Will you be posting the meeting times when they are figured out?? Also, where is exit 165??

Fred,

Your reference to Bacchas re-kindled vague memories of a few Bacchanalia events I attended in my formative years!

If my car is ready and proven by then, I'll be there "with bells on" (What the h--- does that mean?)

Les,

Where's the meeting place along the 39 ? Berlin? Sugarcreek ?
I'm probably coming from BeaveRun in PA going 39 west from East Liverpool OH on Saturday morning and like to join you on the way back to Columbus.
Two more guys, Rick M and Paul B form the Columbus area are also interested to come with their FFR's.

I'm really sorry to hear about Cindy's brother--please give her my best.

As much as I would like to I can't make it on the
"Des Dutch Cruise" make sure you watch out for the road apples
and tell Eli Swartzentruber my buggy can run circles around his.
Make sure you stop by the Grocery Bag in Millersburgh and get an ice cream cone--HUGE--HUGE--

I work three weekends a year:CRY: and this is one of them.:(

Don't forget the show in Columbus on the 25th of August. It's a fund raiser for kids in foster care--

Folks
The plans are to meet Sat. Aug. 10th at 11:am at I -71 & Rt 97 (exit 165), at the Ramada Inn. Then travel 97 east to 39 east through Amish country. There are shops ,resturants and art gallery's in Berlin we could check out. We could do a loop from Berlin through Charm, Walnut Creek and up Rt 62 where the Wendell August Forge is. All of this is a suggestion of things to do we can discuss ideas when we meet up. Dale said there is around 6 guys that he knows that are coming. This should be fun! Hope to see you there! "Thanks Frank for your condolence".

Yes this is it! Sorry for any confusion on the planning part. As I said we had alot going on the past couple of weeks with Cindy's brother. As of right now.. my car is having transmission problems. I'm working on it. Hopefully no other surprise's pop up and I'll get it back on the road for Saturday!

Les
