Jan. get together at Speeds
Any one interested in having a little club get together at Speeds (http://www.speeds.cc/) in Jan.? A little racing to help cure our winter blues.
I will be there tonight (12/10) @ 8PM is anyone has nothing better to do. A neighbor of mine, Jet, is going to be there tonight. He is a driving instructor and very, very fast. He is also going to help us out at the Fling next year for the SCCA solo event. |

Well there is some interest so if you want to go let me know and I will see if I can organize a package deal with Speeds.
Lets go ahead and set it for the second Thursday in January. That is Jan. 9th. Time to be annouced, probably around 7. I was there last night and had a great time. The two guys I was with where just burning up the track. My best time was two seconds slower than one of theirs best time. But I hung in there pretty good and even finished ahead in one of the races. Had a really good accident with one of the guys. I was right on his tail and was testing the inside going into a 180 hairpin. Right at the turn in point he hits the wall and comes to a complete stop! I nail him right in the side and his cart pops up and rams into my engine (carb, plug, fuel lead all ripped off). When we come to a stop he guns it and runs OVER the front of my car. Left foot is all bruised up this morning. The staff was concerned only for us and had no problem fixing us up with another cart and continuing. By the way. They had a time slip on the wall that was Bobby Rahals. My fastest lap was about a second and a half faster then his best! And I was less than a second slower then Bruno Junqueira. How many places can you go and match times with these kind of drivers! |
