Fund Raiser
All:
Even tho the Home Depot thing fell thru, I'm still interested in doing a car show to raise funds for Team Jenny and Cystic Fibrosis. I really don't care where we have it but as a Club (?) and as many of you indicated, we would like to make our contribution. Even tho I'm totally frustrated at the lack of response from the majority (we have over 115 cobras in Ohio-right Doug Isham?) to anything posted, we, as a club should be able to come together, at least for this, to get something going. Let me know if (1) Anyone knows of a major sponsor that would host a car show and, (2) Can/should we as a club do it? Frank SPF # 725 |

I'm sure I could find several locations out here in the styx for a show, but not sure about people willing to come out here. Seems difficult enough to gather in the Big City! At any rate, let me know if I can help out some how, whatever is decided. ~Dave |

Hey,
I know it would be a bit of a haul for you Ohio folks, but....remember how lucky you are to have THE biggest event in your home state. The Fling was great, no matter how far I had to come (8 hours in the rain to be specific). Anyway, if you want to travel some, I am planning the Cobra Civil War, or "Blue/Grey Cobra Day". The date is going to be September 20th. I'm finalizing the location now, but it is probably going to be along the Mason Dixon Line, in Gettysburg, Pa. It's going to be a competition. Cobras from the North vs. Cobras from the south. Who can get more cars to show up? Also trying to think of some good wagers that can be made and contests (maybe with prizes and such). Anyhow, come on out and represent the North. I think the Capital Area Cobra Club is going to make a strong showing for the south, so we Yanks need all the help we can get. Steve |

After cleaning up and consolidating the list a bit I have about 100 names on it. I never did get w/ you to integrate your list but I promise I will, hopefully soon. Since Feb we've added about 26 new names. As far as car show or fund raiser goes I'm for it but unfortunately have zero extra time at the moment to offer. New job as of 6/03 (heavy travel), building new house (moving in August, God I hope), just completed selling two houses, one w/o realtor. Sorry, just no real spare time to offer to help you out.
