These are the two hotels we are recommending at this time. Dates are 25th / 27hth. As of right now we are planning a very cool event that will kick off about 8 AM Friday, the 25th. IF it is convienant to come in on Thursday night do try and do so. HEY! It wasn't my idea to make it more than a 4 hour event on Sunday either! ;)

DV..All I can say is, you asked for it!
(BT...buddy, you know me. It aint in my nature to be a stranger! Just the business, Double Venom Cobras and building the new shop in Michigan are taking a little bit of my time lately!)

Nicely said Rick...and I'm sure many others would agree. Many at Capital Area CC have already made reservations for 24-27, but I don't think anyone comes for the sponsors, or commercialism. For a good cause is nice, that and being able to mingle with fellow enthusiasts.

rdorman 12-16-2003 06:47 AM

So there it is folks, official approval of two hotels. So who is booking where?
Rick

rdorman 12-16-2003 06:51 AM

DV?

What do we tell the hotels when we book...... group rate that sort of thing?
Rick

n559br 12-16-2003 08:41 AM

I've already got my reservations at the Hampton starting Thursday night.

Double Venom 12-22-2003 12:41 PM

Mike,
That's a great idea. Count on it, but if possible try to make it a weeknight.
DV

Mike Braatz 12-23-2003 07:08 PM

Ed--
We can make it a week night -- but it will need to be at 6:30 or 7:00 o'clock--- so us Northerners can slide down 71----

Any preferences????

Mike--

rdorman 12-25-2003 07:25 AM

weeknight or weekend makes no difference to me.

Looks like I need to make a hotel reservation.

When you made the hotel reservations, did they give you a group rate?

Rick

How does Jan 16th (a Friday) sound? This way if the weather is bad, we won't have to worry about work the next day. If it is, I can put up a few folks at my place. QS& L @ 7:00PM?

You guys don't change dates or plans for me! I will be there if at all possible, but I am still running up North about every weekend, usually leaving early Friday AM. But, if I'm not needed that weekend I will be there!
DV.. winter sucks!

Bill Wells 12-28-2003 04:51 PM

DV, if "up North" as someone said on some other thread is a new business venture of yours in Michigan, where is it and what is it called ? I am always up for a visit to Mich area Cobra or custom shops ! Bill.

Double Venom 12-28-2003 05:16 PM

Bill,
I'd love to have you visit! North is actually northwest.....Pentwater. I know, "where in the hell is Pentwater?"

Yes, we're building a new shop in no mans land, while the main shop will stay here in London. Actually it's my way of retiring :)

Just a small (40x42) shop that will do just custom ;) work.

Shells up, main overhead door is in, in floor heat is in and concrete is laid. If the weather co-operates, and if I can get the time, we should be customizing our first car in less than six weeks!

How's your hand fella?
DV....43n47, 86w26

Bill Wells 12-28-2003 05:35 PM

DV, lawdy lawdy, that IS retirement....virtually on the Lake Michigan coast, near Manistee and about 230 mi/ 4hrs from Detroit northern suburbs where I am and about 400 mi and 7 hrs from London, ohio . That area is one of many Michigan GOD's COUNTRY hideaways !!! lawdy lawdy, you are going to HEAVEN ! you better get ready to fish, boat, dune buggy, snow mobile and become laid back ! a great place to call home , as long as you are a 4 seasons type of guy. and like Ohio, the weather is subject to change at any time, but you WILL enjoy that area. Congratulations, I am sorry it is not closer to Motown. as several of us are always looking for shorter gumball rally last minute cruise locations. bill

bittentoo 12-29-2003 08:40 AM

I just booked at the Fairfield for june 24th, 25th & 26th. Mentioned that I was coming in for the cobra event and they lowered the price of the room from $70.00 to $50.00! I put it on a credit card and have a confermation number. I think that I got a good deal!

rdorman 12-30-2003 06:12 AM

They didn't even tell me the price! But if it is more than the rest pay........... be sure that I will mention it!
Rick

Jerry Chabino 12-30-2003 07:16 AM

DV,

Congrats on the new shop! I spent a lot of working years in the Kalamazoo area. Yeppers, where U are going is God"s country! What a beautiful place. You're scaring me though. I get this feeling you'll be moving up there .

rdorman 12-30-2003 07:27 AM

Hello there Jerry! Long time no see. Back from all your travels? Going to be at the Fling this year?
Rick
