"Cleveland" Ohio machine shop
Can any of you Ohio builder/owners recommend a Southern
Ohio machine shop that has 351/400 Cleveland machining experience. I am relatively new to the state and need a set of quenched 4v heads worked, specifically I need the pedestal slots machined off to accept studs and guideplates. I don't want just anyone to try to do it. I am presently running the Crane conversion kit but don't like it and am going to a fairly radical cam. Thanks in advance. Bob Taylor |
That is a fairly simple procedure but I understand your misgivings. The only one I know down there with a good rep is Performance Engineering in Ross Ohio. Do a search around here and you will find all kinds of information on them.
Last time I was there they had some SWEET aluminum Cleveland heads there! Rick |
Bob,
If you don't mind a short drive north, one of the finest engine shops anywhere is right here in Columbus, Fowler Engines. If nothing else pans out, you might give them a look. Here's a link: http://fowlerengines.com Good luck! ~Dave |
Thanks Rick and Dave. I have a spot facer but am chicken to
attempt it with just an electric drill. These 4v heads are getting fairly rare to just play around with. I will check in Ross and will stop in at Columbus. I work at the Bud brewery on weekends so it is not out of my way. I look forward to meeting you both at one of the Ohio club functions. Thanks for the info. Bob T. |
Dave beat me to it.
Fowler IS the Ford shop to go to. Right 0ut side of Columbus. DV... |
Thanks DV for your recommendation. I look forward to meeting
you as well. I wish I had this fine community of people 40 years ago when I started streetrodding. This makes is alot easier! Bob T. |
If you are up this way (Columbus) then Fowler is an impeckable shop. They can do anything!
