Thank you to all for attending, and stop thanking ME! You guys made the event what it was. I can saddle up and drive to Mohican whenever I want, but it's more fun with 13 cobras behind me!!

Nice to meet those of you that I met for a first time, and to the usual gang . . . it was fantastic seeing you as always.

See how much fun it is when we all get together, now?? Keep that in mind next time someone schedules something!! Pretty soon, the OCC will be a club to reckon with!! ;)

JP . . . . . . . FULL FAST (except when I am behind Dorman and he won't pass the 42mph pickup in front of him with 2 miles of free and clear dotted yellow line in front of him) :D

Sounds like you guys/gals had an absolute blast. Weather was perfect for a run. Sorry Jane and I were unable to make it. Tristan and I spent the weekend up at YMCA camp Storer / Napolean, MI doing the father and son "Indian Guides" thing. This was our first camping trip and we too had a blast. Hope we are able to make next year's event. See you at the X-mas gathering.

Jack - great Pics!

The story of the foolish Corvette driver....after we left Rader's, Harry stapleton was following me back north. A guy in a Corvetter pulls out of a side street and barges between us. Harry stayed on Rt 60 and I split off on Rt. 511 and the Corvette followed me. Older guy, probably around 60ish and his wife. Vette was a newer convertible and he had the top down. Well this guy stays right on my tail, and I'm holding it right on 55. Finally he back down a gear and blows by me like I'm sitting still..then slows down and pulls into a driveway. As I drove by him I slowed down and hollered "Let's Go" I drove slowly in second gear until he caught up behind me. When I heard him mash it, to go around, I did the same. My wife said, what happened, I said, I don't know was too busy watching the road and him fading in my rearview mirror. When I slowed down, he stayed behind me for a few more miles, then tooted his horn and turned off.

He was testing the waters 'eh Jack? I think a lot of people know they are going to get smoked, they just want to see how badly they will lose!

I owe you one for that lifter noise gag! :p

The new cam is a little noisier than the old. Not lifter noise but you know the 'whirling' sound the cam make. The new one has a much more aggresive growl as opposed to the whirly noise the old one made. I suspect it is just because of more aggresive ramps on the Crane cam as opposed to the Ford cam. All the clearences and preloads are correct. New cam runs strong.... no I just have to tune it, again, to fit the new cam. Want to play with timing first.

BTW..another good thing that came out of the Fall Cruise was the Lake Snakes Cobra Club was officially formed. We went over filing the paper work to incorporate at Rader's....so we now are officially a club. Web site is www.lakesnakescobra.com We are pretty much based in Northern Ohio, and this summer had an activity planned almost every weekend except a couple. Most were spontaneous, but we sure enjoyed ourselves this summer. Membership is open to all, still working out details on that, but info can be obtained by emailing me.

I added your site to our links page.

Who was it that was going to do the holiday party? Charly? Any one care to contact him and get the ball rolling? I think we will definiatly need some hotel rooms for that one!

Rick

d isham 10-11-2004 01:02 PM

Rick,

Steve Boardman, Dan Stryffeler, and a couple of others have typically organized the x-mas party. It will probably be after the holidays again like last year. If it's at the Winking Lizard again there's plenty of hotels w/in 1/2 mile at Rockside/I-77 (Independence).
