Reputable machine shops in Columbus area?
Hello fellow OCC members. I thought I would have more luck with this question here as opposed to the general forums as some of you are familiar with the Columbus area...
Anyway, I cannot find my Yellow Pages, and I am not having much luck with an internet search. Could anyone suggest a good machine shop for automotive type work such as boring blocks, turning cranks, etc.? Maybe someone you have used and was satisfied with the results. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Greg |

Thank you, Rob. I will check them out.

I have always used Fowlers as well. Seems to me Ohio Crank has a good rep as well.

Pick a builder close to home
Always try to select a builder that is close to allow you periodical visits and occasional inspections of the work beging performed for you. You never know what you might end up with once the pan is buttoned up and the oil is poured in.
Continual communications between builder and customer will prevent misunderstandings and good references from past satisfied customers (not to mention the lack of negative experiences) will support your choice and make you feel much more confident you are getting what you want, need and paid for at a fair price with convenient service to back it up. I have also heard good things regarding Fowler, as others here have already attested to. Good luck in your new build! /Randall |
Thanks for the advice. Sorry the response took so long, but I have been tearing the engine down and now have a much better idea of where I stand. I have pretty much decided to go with Fowler. They are only about 12 miles away too.
Thanks, Greg |
