Superformance GT-40

My friend and took a ride to Dynamic Motorsport and luckily for my friend he
got a ride in the new Superformance GT-40 driven by Dean Rosen. The car
was great and looked very close to the original. Thanks to Dean and the
guys for their hospitality

The SPF GT will be my next car. I have seen a couple at Hillbank and they are an incredible car.

The Superformance GT is a MkII with a Roush 427 stroker. The Superformance GT is 90% true to the original GT-40 MKII, which parts are
interchangable with the original. It was interesting to see the Gurney bubble.
To my understanding since the cars are so close to the original MkII's the
car #s will be a continuation from the originals, and that the Superformance
GT's will be permitted to compete in vintage racing events.

I would suggest checking with the sanctioning body. I was at the Mid America Tulsa event and was not permitted in the vintage race with my Kirkham. It is also VERY close to the original car. They said it didn't matter how original it was or who endorses it, it had to be an "old "car, period.

I would guess that is because everybody is making replica's, and some people do race the originals. I know with cheetah's, even though the continuation cars are built now, I know they qualify for vintage racing for at least one sanctioning body

the reason being that nobody is racing the originals, and they are popular, draw a crowd, i.e. money for the event. I was told that the superformance GT40's will carry on the serial numbers from the "originals", licensed by the guy who own's the GT40 name, and they will be eligible for vintage racing for at least one sanctioning body, again for the same reason that nobody races the originals.

What sanctioning body are you talking about? I would love to do some racing also.
