Ohio (Lake County) Registration Process
 
Guys,

Need some help and advice as to how to register a new Cobra in Lake County, Ohio. Obviously, want to avoid the emmissions testing..

Any help and advice would be appreciated...

I should be expecting delivery of my dream in late August...

What if you brought it down to Columbus? It might be a long drive but there is no emission testing.

In Columbus we go to a license agency and pay a $53. inspection fee.They give you a paper with phone numbers to Highway Patrol inspection locations.Call the location closest to you and make an apointment.Usually takes six weeks.Make sure you have the mso for your car and all receipts.Especially receipts for the engine and trans.You have to prove that your car wasn't built with stolen parts.

You don't have to worry about emissions testing. I assume the car is already built? If so, and it has been titled in another state, just take it to a registered dealership and they will match the vin to the title. If no title, then you have to make an appointment (see link) to have the car really inspected, which requires receipts for everything. You need to make the appointment at least 3-4 months in advance.

After you get the title, or have it transferred, the rest is easy. Get Collectors plates if it has a 2007 title and you will be emissions exempt.
